Danielle Murray:
I think Anglesey is an OK place to live, but there isn't much stuff for over 18s to do, except go out drinking or play football, if you're boy. I'd like them to set up an outdoor activities club here. There are rock climbing and canoeing centres on Anglesey somewhere but I don't know where.
I liked it that ASDA came here because it brought lots of jobs, as did the dry stone walling initiative in Gaerwen - it made the place look more attractive. But I don't know if I'll get a job here - the way things are going there won't be much chance.
Taryn Roberts:
We did a presentation at college called 'If we ruled Anglesey, what would we do?' Well, have cleaner toilets and more dog litter bins. We do like the beaches because most are Blue Flag, so that's an improvement.
We also need more council housing, or affordable housing here anyway. It will be difficult to buy a house in the future. The prices go up more quickly than the wages we'll get.
I'm thinking of working in a residential home. I'd like to help older people, and I like talking to them because their life stories are interesting, especially about how Llangefni was years ago. I hope I get to do that on Anglesey.
John Heywood:
I moved here from Stockport when I was 13. Anglesey is different - it's a much nicer area, much less traffic and lovely scenery but there is a lot less going on job-wise. There also isn't that much to do when you're an older teenager, other than drinking. There were more youth clubs in Stockport and the public transport made it easier to get around. Where I live, there are only three buses a day in each direction - and there isn't much to do when you do get to Holyhead, so is it worth going?
I used to go climbing in Stockport, but the place here is limited for those in the forces and the university. We've got the space to do these activities, we just need the support to be able to do them.
I'd like better job opportunities here too. People seem to think that there isn't much above ASDA here - there not a good enough range of jobs. I want to do nursing, so I'm going to go away to university and hopefully then come back, although I know there will be more opportunities in places like Manchester.
I want to be a nurse with people with learning difficulties. I find it more rewarding working with people with learning difficulties, I get a lot more out of it. I did a work placement at a special needs school and care centre and really enjoyed it. I hope I get to come back to Anglesey after university to do this.
