My grandfather was a carpenter. He made all the signs etc. for Parys Mountain in the late 1950s. I remember going with him checking all of the signs.

I love Amlwch. My parents Lionel and Gloria moved there and love keeping me up to date on the Parys Mountain underground news. I have never been underground but one day I plan to visit the mine. Another favourite place of mine has to be The Sail Loft. A truly beautiful friendly place is Amlwch.

I like the savage bareness superimposed on the ordinary cottages in the background, and the peculiar colour of everything. But I would have liked to see more close-ups, there are rare plants and flowers on Parys, including orchids. I started to explore Parys in 1949.
