Llangernyw tour

Last updated: 21 August 2006

Antoinette Sandbach
Antoinette Sandbach: Llangernyw is a spectacular village with a great community spirit. Central to this is the school which provides a high standard of education in Welsh. The Cylch Meithrin also provides a valuable bridge for young children moving here. next page

When Wales Today visited Llangernyw on their summer 2006 tour of Wales, it was a good chance to ask people what they thought of the village. You can add your own thoughts below.

Anyone notice how not one person above mentioned the beautiful Hafodunos Hall? The hall is the only interesting thing in that village!

66.5% of Llangernyw can speak Welsh and the Welsh language is extremely strong in this part of the world Clare, it will be great for you to hear one of the oldest languages of Europe being spoken.

I have just booked in to a holiday cottage in Llangernyw for Xmas 2007 and would love to know a bit more about the village, the local pub and local attractions. Can anyone help?

I live in one of the cottages, apparently they were built for the workers on the Hafodunos estate. The one in which I live was the joiners cottage, whilst the one next door to me was the bakers. The outbuilding next door is L shaped as it housed the bakers oven.
