I came to Aberdovey through my school a few years ago and stayed two weeks at a campsite where we rockclimbed and did all sorts of indoor and outdoor activities. I'd like to know where that was. I'd like to take my friends and family there.

I have recently found a gravestone for a 5 year old belgian refugee buried on our family plot in Aberdovey shortly after the first world war. My family would be interested to find out anything we can about the circumstances under which the refugees were brought over, and if possible the particular little boy who is buried with our family. His name was Christoph, and I can get a surname from a relative, he was known locally as The Little Belgian, but I can't find any further information. I would be extremely grateful if anybody has anything to add.

when I was a child in the 50s there was a man named Ellis Williams in Aberdovey who I think was the harbourmaster, and he also ran a "ferry" over to Borth. I know Williams is a very common name, but there is a good chance there is a connection. I think the bells of Aberdyfi are the bells which are claimed to have been heard ringing from under the river Dyfi, where an ancient village is said to have been submerged.

Does anybody have photographs of the camping coaches in Aberdovey which we stayed in as a family with 10 children from the 50s to the 70s. We have one or two photos from that time, but not very good ones.
