Cors Goch, Llanbedrgoch
This was the first reserve established by the North Wales Wildlife Trust and remains one of its largest. Also see Cors Bodeilio.
The limestone and sandstone make for several kinds of habitats here, including moorland of heather and gorse, meadows of wild flowers, open water and a small woodland.
The site has been designated a National Reserve because of its importance in preserving rare plantlife and invertebrates.
There are wild orchids and violets and it's an excellent place to see native snakes and toads.
