Gwydir Castle gardens Gwydir Castle

These Grade I listed gardens are laid out around a 16th century Tudor mansion, the ancestral home of the Wynn family which is also open to the public.

The Elizabethan arch in the gardens was built to celebrate the wedding of Charles I.

A 19th century parterre, designed by Barry, is now under extensive restoration. There are also peacocks and other wildlife roaming free in the grounds, which are surrounded by Gwydir Forest.

Opening times: March 1 to October 31, 10am to 5pm daily. Closed occasionally on Saturdays for weddings - please telephone. November to February: Open by appointment only.
Access: As this is a Grade One listed building, only the ground floor is accessible to wheelchair users. The parking facilities are very close to the gardens, but all of the toilets are down steps.
Location: Gwydir Castle, Llanrwst, Conwy, LL26 0PN
Telephone: 01492 641687
Fax: 01492 641687
