My G.G.Grandfather was gamekeeper for Lady Reade. His address was Baelog Llanfaethlu. His son then moved to Pentraeth were and eventually ran the Panton Arms Hotel. I will visit Garreglwyd when I am next in Anglesey.

Carreglwyd is my home away from home. I was made so welcome by Tom & Ninni Carpenter and their family on my recent visit there, July 2008. They are such very special people. One is gifted to have had the opportunity in their lives to have met such beautiful people. We shall meet again soon.

I was delighted to come across this web site. Visiting Carreglwyd was my earliest introduction to this beautiful part of Wales,I loved it so much that I have now settled in the area.

Thank you for the wonderful documentary on your beautiful home "CARREGLWYD" last night. Both myself and husband were in paradise for half an hour. Thank you and your family and of course Sara Edwards who presented "Great Houses of Wales".We will definitely visit you next year.

I grew up in Llanfaethlu - my family had been there centuries. Garreglwyd is a truly magical wood and home to the finest conkers in all of Wales [collected with permission only of course!]

Until I moved away from Anglesey in 1988 to start my nurse training I used to visit Carreglwyd regularly to fish in the fantastic lake.
Many a sunny day was spent in complete peace just waiting for that big fish (and there were a good few of those!!)

I built some of the dry stone walls at Carreglwyd a couple of years ago. It's a nice peaceful place with woods, marshes and farmland.
I found out I was allergic to sycamore tree pollen there though - not recommended if you are too!
