Walks and talks, exhibits and outings are all on the agenda for first Festival of History in North Wales where subjects as diverse as photography, historic buildings, family history, archaeology and World War II coastal sites will be covered.
Local history societies from throughout north Wales will be involved with the exhibition, as well as organisations like CADW, the National Library for Wales, the Royal Commission of Historical Monuments and the Clwyd, Powys and Gwynedd archaeological trusts.
In addition, there will be a full programme of lectures. One of the keynote speakers will be Jonathan Lloyd, the UK member on the World Heritage Committee, who will talk on the recent designation of Auschwitz as a world heritage site. A speaker from the National Library of Wales will give a talk on the archive of film and television in Wales.
One of the event organisers, Mike Blackburn, said: "It's a shop window on history in north Wales - on people who do things out of enthusiasm for a subject they're interested in."
The organisers are also hoping to arrange free coach trips to sites of historical interest. There will also be historical walks around the mountains and seaside of Llanfairfechan.
The festival will be held in Llanfairfechan Community Centre, Village Road, where doors will open at 10am and close at 6pm each day. For the full programme of events, go to the Festival Website.
