It was always my dream to be a golf pro and from when I first picked a club up at 12 years old I was hooked and all of a sudden there I was, a pro playing in my first event on tour!

Becky turned professional aged 21 in November 2003 following a successful amateur career.
Her home club is Abergele Golf Club and her coach is her dad Steve, who encouraged her to take up golf in the first place when she was 12. Some highlights of her amateur years were Welsh Girls Champion 1997 and 1998; Welsh Ladies Champion 1999 and 2001; British Ladies Open amateur strokeplay champion 1999 and 2002; European Ladies Open Champion 2002; Curtis Cup player 2000; Vagliano Trophy 2001 and 2003; World Team Championship 2002.
She took second place in the Tenerife Ladies Open and the Wales WPGA Championship of Europe in 2003.
She is sponsored by Desert Springs golf resort in Almeria, Spain, which is her winter base. Latest: Becky wins 2009 Spanish Open. She has also been selected for the European team in the Solheim Cup, 19-23 August.

Well done Becky. I have been following your career from day one. I am an old colleague of your Dad and I know the secret of your success. Of course you had the talent and he saw that. I am so pleased for you and for your Dad. He must be very proud. Keep that flag flying for Wales!
