A star of Opportunity Knocks and Song for Europe, Tammy was brought up in Tal-y-Bont, Bangor.
Tammy sang from the age of four, her first performance being at her sister's wedding. She sang in choirs and as a solist, competing successfully in eisteddfods in folk and penillion competitions. She trained as a classical singer at the Guildhall School of Music in London, then became a successful cabaret singer. In 1975 Tammy appeared on television talent show Opportunity Knocks and won six weeks running. Her single, Let Me Try Again, reached number five in the charts. She appeared in the Song for Europe TV programme singing Love's a Carousel. Tammy had her own TV series in Wales and made guest appearances on many other shows, as well as a Royal Command Performance.
After living and working for some years in New Zealand, Tammy has now returned to settle in Wales, back in the Bangor area. She was invited to becoms a member of the Gorsed of Bards at the National Eisteddfod in Bangor in 2005.
