Sasha has been at the forefront of the dance music scene since the 1990s.
Sasha, aka Alexander Coe, was born in Bangor but grew up in Hawarden, Flintshire. He gained a place at the elite Epsom Public School, but didn't fit in and returned to live with his father in Bangor.
Back in North Wales, his step-mother forced him to take piano lessons and, despite his protestations at the time, Sasha called her to say thank you after his first recording session.
Sasha started out as a club DJ in the 1980s, getting his first break as DJ for the noted dance club Shellys, where he was given free rein to spin and rework the dance tracks of the day.
But it wasn't until he started laying down his grooves at famous dance club Renaissance that Sasha became known nationally and, eventually, globally.
He became so popular that he released a compilation of his Renaissance sounds - the first DJ to do so, starting the trend for club-branded albums.
Further releases include the Northern Exposure compilations, the Global Underground series and the mix album, Communicate. Sasha has also remixed tracks for artists such as the Pet Shop Boys, Simply Red and M People.
He continues to tour the world and produce albums.
