It was 1pm in the afternoon I started having pains. I went out with my dad, but earlier that morning I had a show. In the car I was having little twitching pains but I thought nothing of it.
At the night time we had to pick my sister up from the train station because she was staying over. I thought that was a bad idea because she said she didn't want to be there while I was in labour. My mates came for me at about half nine so I went out for a bit with them but the pains were getting worse. In the end they got that bad that I had to go to my boyfriend's house because I couldn't make it to my dads. At the time I wasn't with him but he let me in and then he asked me back out because he said that he didn't want me giving birth to our baby while we weren't together.
About half an hour later we went over to my dad's and told him I was having pains and my dad said he could tell because my stomach had really dropped. I used my dad's phone to ring up my boyfriend's mum to tell her I was in labour. I was really tired that night because the night before I went to a party but I couldn't get to sleep because the pains were really hurting me.
I lay on my bed and really tried to get comfortable but couldn't so I sat on the bouncy ball that my mum brought because I had been told they were good to move along the labour. I was bouncing on the ball looking at the Argos catalogue with my boyfriend just looking at me weird.
In the morning at about half five I went to walk around the garden to stop the pain then I just started crying because I couldn't take the pain any more. It was awful.
At about half nine I phoned my mum and told her that I was in labour. I told her to get up because at this point I was getting angry because I was tired and in an awful lot of pain. I went to get my mum and when we were nearly by the hospital she realised that she had forgotten the camera so she had to go to Argos to get one and she said to the man in the queue 'excuse me, do you mind if I go in front of you because my daughter is in labour in the car'.
At this point I felt very agitated and wound up I was very snappy as well.
The midwife had done a routine check and I was only 4cm dilated so I couldn't imagine the pain when I was fully dilated. The first thing I said was 'I WANT AN EPIDURAL'. So a man came in and give me the epidural through a needle in my back. It didn't hurt a bit but the man said if I had a contraction tell him to stop but I didn't because I wanted it in as soon as possible.
The midwives were fine with me, not one of them were snotty because I was young. They were really nice.
When I was fully dilated they were telling me to push but I had no energy whatsoever. They asked me if I wanted 'gas and air' but I didn't. They did anyway and I had my boyfriend squeezing my hand when I should have been squeezing his and my mum crying. I felt the baby wriggling his shoulders ready to come out with his head already out.
After I had my son, Lee, I was just crying because it was really emotional. My boyfriend and my dad were crying. My sister was there as well with her two daughters. I was really proud - and tea and toast they give you afterwards never ever tasted so good.
