So you think you're pregnant

Mum Katie, 15, a pupil at Cyfle, a school for young mums, offers advice for teens who think they may be pregnant.

  • Tell someone. They may be angry or upset but they will get over it.
  • Go to the doctors straight away. Some doctors may look down on you but ignore them because you and your baby's health is more important.
  • If you are pregnant decide what you want to do; whether you want to keep it or not. Don't let anyone force you into anything. It's your choice.
  • Carry on with your education.
  • If you do plan to go through with an abortion think about how you will feel afterwards - you can't turn back time.
  • If you are going to keep the baby decide when or whether you are going to tell the school.
