Start: Begin opposite the western entrance to St Garmon's Churchyard GR190561. Park on the village street, but please respect village life.
Points of interest: Llanarmon yn Iâl has a beautiful double-aisled church set in a circular churchyard suggesting a place of ancient worship. It was rebuilt in 1736 but contains late medieaval (1100 - 1500AD) roof timbers and a magnificent brass chandelier.
A limestone stile marks the beginnning of the walk heading up a lane alongside a chain of ponds. Nurse Fawr Wood is being converted from coniferous plantation to broadleaved woodland.
Join the Offa's Dyke Path heading north over heather-topped Moel y Plas. Marvel at magical views of Moel Fenlli and westward over a vale that, during the ice age, contained a huge lake held behind an ice cap sealing off Liverpool Bay.
