Pennant Country

Thomas Pennant Naturalist and author Thomas Pennant's accounts of his travels through Wales have been revived and people can follow his walks across the countyside...

Thomas Pennant, a naturalist, antiquary and traveller, was born 200 years ago at Downing, a house in the parish of Whitford, Flintshire. Thomas became interested in travelling through his study of natural history and the collection of geological specimens. The accounts he wrote of his journeys are widely acclaimed as masterly travelogues.
