Caia Park Partnership

Kerry and Tina Kerry and Tina both volunteer at Caia Park Partnership. Here they talk about why they got involved...

Kerry Davies volunteers in the Caia Park Partnership: "I volunteer in the youth club and I've qualified now as a youth worker but I still volunteer. I gained qualifications through volunteering. Volunteering gives you experience and skills and makes you realise what you can do for your community. Volunteering has changed people's lives around, it gives them more confidence."

Tina Davies lives in Caia Park and is married with two children: "I got into volunteer work when I was pregnant with my youngest one which was 12 years ago. I had finished work and I was lonely, isolated and bored. I helped set up the Caia Park Partnership and I came back to voluntary work. I support people, I run the community centre in Kingsley and I do youth groups. I volunteer for about 15 hours a week and work full time too. It gives me self esteem and confidence, there are loads and loads of bonuses. I encourage people to come out and volunteer alongside a lot of the groups to stop them feeling isolated and alone. The volunteers do masses of work and are worth their weight in gold."

The Caia Park Partnership is a community cevelopment organisation which aims to deliver a local needs led service to people in the Caia Park area of Wrexham. The Partnership can be contacted on 01978 310984.
