Making the most of local healthcare services

Last updated: 25 September 2006

Whether you need to find a service or want to know who to contact to improve services, we have pulled together useful links and a basic guide to how healthcare is delivered locally.

Local healthcare services

  • Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board provides all primary, community and acute hospital services as well as health centres and clinics and co-ordinates the work of GP practices and NHS services provided by dentists, opticians and pharmacies.

Local health service watchdog

  • Clwyd Community Health Council acts as the health 'watchdog' for the public in your area. It is there to represent your views, to monitor and influence health providers' policies and plans and to give information about local access to NHS services.

The CHC can give you free, independent advice on complaining about NHS services, with trained staff who can act as advocates, helping to write letters and even attending interviews with you.
