Ffynnongroyw

Last updated: 23 June 2008

These photos were taken by young people in Ffynnongroyw as part of a project run by Groundwork Wrexham & Flintshire; Rural North Flintshire Communities First, Flintshire Council Youth & Community Services and volunteers from 'Fun for Kids'.

The project was designed to give these young people a chance to get involved in their community and take some practical environmental action. They were given recycled disposable cameras and the brief to take pictures which illustrate their life in the village and off they went!

Justin Ward, of Groundwork, says 'Groundwork encourages people to think of their environment as all that surrounds us. Environmental action can mean just thinking about your environment in new ways, to change perceptions.'

"In the old days, this well was where everyone used to get water from. It means 'Clear Well' and sailors used to get their water from it." Lucy.
