Wrexham's giants

Construction at Eagle's Meadow, Sept 2007

Last updated: 26 September 2007

A poem about the construction work and redevelopment at Wrexham's Eagles Meadow site.

By the Borras Bard of Wrexham
Eagles Meadow is their home
There they stand all alone
They never seem to make a sound
As they lift steel work from the ground
These giants by the day get smaller
As the building they are making gets taller
One wonders when will they reach the roof
When they stop will be the proof
And when they stop it wont be long
People will look, and say where have they gone?
I am sure they were here yesterday
I never saw them go away
Wrexham's skyline will never be the same
After a visit by these giant cranes
But the Eagles Meadow has come into its own
As large retail shops makes it their home
