Alyn Waters Country Park
Open: The park is open all year. Visitor Centre is open Easter-Sept, 10am-4.30pm, & Oct-Easter, weekends only.
Details: The largest country park in the Wrexham area, Alyn Waters is situated in the Alyn Valley. The park is in two halves. Within the Gwersyllt half is the Visitor Centre, hosting exhibitions on the history and wildlife of the area. On the Llay side of the park is a cycleway and Sculpture Trail. Access for wheelchair users.

Greenfield Valley
Open: The park and surrounding area is open all year round. Museum opens Apr-Oct, 10am-4.30pm.
Details: The park and museum is set in one and a half miles of woodlands with reservoirs, ancient monuments and industrial history. Abbey Farm Museum is the focal point of the country park and the reconstructed local farm buildings provide an atmospheric backdrop to the agricultural displays.

Loggerheads Country Park

Details: Set in the heart of The North Wales Borderlands in the county of Denbighshire, visitors can stroll through woodland, along the picturesque River Alyn, and follow nature trails leading to panoramic views. Loggerheads has a Countryside Centre full of information, displays and souvenirs.

Moel Famau Country Park
Open: All year
Details: Moel Famau Country Park is more than 2000 acres of upland landscape and one of the largest country parks in Wales. It forms part of the Clwydian Range Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). The landscape appears to be natural, but the forces of nature combined with human activity has produced the scenery seen today. The central feature of the park is the seven mile stretch of the Offa's Dyke National Trail running along the ridgeway. It takes about 40 minutes to walk to the Jubilee Tower along the Offa's Dyke Path.

Nant Mill Visitor Centre
Open: Visitor Centre, Easter-Sept, Mon-Sun; & Oct-Easter, weekends only.
Details: A country park nestling in an ancient woodland alongside the River Clywedog and offering an insight into the life of the Clywedog Valley, with a variety of displays. If you're equipped with a strong pair of walking shoes, the Clywedog Trail offers excellent access to some of Wrexham's best countryside. For youngsters there is a giant reconstruction of a mole tunnel, complete with worms! There is also an easily accessible stream and picnic site.

Stryt Las Park
Open: Open all year
Details: Stryt Las Park is home to one of Europe's largest colonies of Great Crested Newt. Now designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest, the park is in a predominately wetland area dominated by a large lake and three small ponds - all fish free to allow the newts to thrive. A children's adventure playground has several attractions. Stryt Las is accessible for young and old alike.
Situated on the B5605 between Rhos and Johnstown, Stryt Las is only minutes away from the A483 Wrexham bypass and easily reached from Wrexham town centre.

Ty Mawr Country Park

Details: Ty Mawr Country Park, Cefn Mawr, offers some of the finest views in North Wales. Bounded by the dramatic stone built Cefn Viaduct, the park provides magnificent views over the Vale of Llangollen and the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, which is within easy walking distance. Ty Mawr has all of the fun of the farm, where children can delight in feeding the animals, which include rare breeds of sheep. Ty Mawr is a base to access Offas Dyke National Trail, the Llangollen Canal and the countryside of the Dee Valley.

Wepre Park
Open: All year
Details: Wepre Park is a 160 acre woodland between Connah's Quay and Ewloe, Flintshire. The country park is on an ancient woodland site rich in wildlife and historical interest, including the supposedly haunted Ewloe Castle. The Ranger Service manages the area from the Visitor Centre and also organises a busy programme of events and activities.
