International Eisteddfod - 2009 line-up

For the first time's there's an opening gala evening concert [Monday 6 July] starring Faryl Smith, Denbigh's Mark Evans, homegrown Fron Male Voice Choir, Colin Jones, Côr Godre'r Aran and Alexei Kalveks.
Singer Barbara Dickson performs Tuesday's evening concert - that's after the traditional parade of competitors marching around the town centre in national costume to mark the opening of the festival.
Wednesday is International Song & Dance Day with choirs and folk dancing and the evening concert is the annual Llangollen Peace Concert hosted by Terry Waite.
Thursday is International Youth Day with the evening concert performed by Sir Willard White.
Friday is International Celtic and Folk Day with an evening performance by classical singer Natasha Marsh and classical group Blake.
Saturday is International Family, as the name suggests, it's the main day for families to attend to soak up the atmosphere around the showground as throughout the course of the eisteddfod, there will be live music events and dancing on field as well as the official competitions inside the pavilion.
Saturday's evening concert is the Choir of the World competition with five choirs, each winners in their categories, singing in the grand final.
There will be another first for the eisteddfod on Sunday, with a new line-up being planned on the showfield throughout the day and ahead of the final evening concert, Licensed to Thrill, featuring the Orchestra of Welsh National Opera, singer Mary Carewe and Simon Bowman, and hosted by actress Honor Blackman, closing with a fireworks finale.
