Reading all these reminds me of my first love. We were evacuees in a place called Glyn Conway and when I was moved to a village Llangernyw I actually walked all the way home one night after visiting Moira. The buses ran once a week and I was only 12, work it out for yourselves. Pentre Voelas to Llangernyw along the old main road through Betws-y-coed and Llanrwst, no lights no traffic no people in 1941. I wonder what happened to Moira of Liverpool. I had the distinction of being the first patient at the newly opened Llanrwst Cottage Hospital during my stay.

At 16 yrs I made my first trip to Wales with a Welsh friend. She told me the boys were better fun than English boys, she was right,I had a great time. At the age of 60 yrs I made a trip to North Wales with my English husband and when I saw the fun the elderly Welshmen were having I wish I had gone with my heart at 16yrs. Welsh men are great at any age. Oh well! Too late for regrets.
