The Royal Oak in Higher Kinnerton is a rarity in these days of plastic, gastro, football infested drinking places. It is a proper old fashioned local pub with a warm welcome always for passing travellers and a large loyal band of regulars from outside the village, as well as a large local drinking fraternity. Excellent beer and fantastic food without a juke box or fruit machine. Excellent!P.S. I'm not the landlord.

Talking of good pubs, Friday night at Air Products Club; Barry, Smodge, Dave, Graham, Trigger, Brian, Alec and Pat for the first hour. All in our little spot putting the world to right. Who needs politicians, eh, in prostate corner? PS. I'm the chairman.

Llay Miners Welfare is a lovely place to go in the summer and winter. The staff are lovely and so are the people.

Horse and Jockey in Wrexham. Good food, and good ale, now that the Becks is on draft. Even poker on a Wednesday night. Staff very friendly. Call in to see the landlord Victor, very friendly if he's not on holiday.

I agree with the comments on the Griffin in Gresford, no food or music, just good ale and good conversation.

The Blue Bell in Ffrith has a spot-on pint no matter what you drink. The food is the best in the area. Very warm and welcoming, cosy atmosphere and a good crack.

Is there anyone on this site who's NOT a landlord marketing their own pub?

Griffin Inn, Gresford, has a lot to recommend. No food, just a good pint and lots of old fashioned ambiance.

All the Pubs are great. I wished our Pubs had the same atmosphere. Watching pre-World Cup games at Horse's in Flint and Cup games in Dees at the pub across the street from the Gateway to Wales Hotel.
