Chinese New Year, also called the Spring Festival, is celebrated among all the Chinese people in the mainland of China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and overseas. The tradition of celebration for the Chinese New Year varies from place to place.

Here is the celebration of a family from the mainland of China: Xin Wang invited John Ankers and his Chinese wife to celebrate the Chinese New Year together with her family, the highlight of the celebration is in the New Year's Eve. There are many activities involved, but for the overseas Chinese, the practical celebration is to make the dumplings and watch the New Year's Eve gala which is broadcast live from Beijing.

Dumplings is the typical food for the Chinese New Year. The beautiful thing of making dumplings is that everyone can give a hand. The photos above show the processes of dumpling making and the family celebration.
