Crosville bus drivers

Former Crosville bus driver Bob Sargent, who worked at the Flint depot, shares memories & old photos from the 1970s, including a bus driver competition & a flood at the depot.

speech marks Thought you might like this photo of the lads from various Crosville depots in the area that entered and reached the area finals of the bus driver of the year competition. It was held at Wrexham that year although I can't remember which year it was, sometime in the 1970s, with the Crosville Motor Services. I'm standing second from left representing Flint Depot. We had all reached this stage by successfully driving in service while, unbeknown to us, an official from the competition was travelling on the bus. At the end of the journey he informed us who he was and was putting our names forward to the next stage. So, here we all are, on manoeuvres day. Showing our skills at manouvering the vehicle. I must admit here was my Waterloo, I never advanced further but I did enjoy the day. speech marks
