Why not turn Plas Kynaston into a heritage museum open to everyone. There must be plenty of old documents, pictures already in situ in the hall. Ask the people of Cefn for photos, relics and anything else that will contribute to a museum even if it means borrowing the items from the people of Cefn

I think Plas Kynaston should be a community hall where people of all ages can meet up. It is a shame this was not turned into the cafe instead of the Ebenezer. With regard to George Edward Hall, I remember going to watch films there. Could this not happen again, especially for the older people who cannot travel to Wrexham - and a lot of people cannot afford the prices?

I'd like to see something done with Plas Kynaston Hall, it seems such a waste of a nice building. But isn't it haunted? I remember when I was back in Cefn School that some girl who lived there called Annie died after falling down the stairs trying to escape from the attic. Anybody else heard this? It's even in the book 'Haunted Clwyd', where it says if you walk past a night sometimes you can hear a young girl screaming. I've yet to hear these!

My family originated from Cefn Mawr and Llanfyllin. Unfortunately the family moved to Manchester in the 1900s. Please try to keep your buildings as best you can. Unfortunately with lack of forethought Manchester has destroyed so much of its heritage. To be able to see where your family came from is so informative and in a way helps you to define yourself. Besides we do not build with such elegance these days.

Plas kynaston hall was used as a play group in the early 1970s and also a meeting place for pensioners, it was a library in my day 1950/60. What a shame if a lovely building like that goes to waste.

Given the money already spent on Plas Kynaston Hall starting the renovations, then I think that this is the building Dee Valley should be concentrating on. This historical house would be a treasure to the community if restored to its former glory. Play groups, community meetings etc could be held there, in more elegant surroundings than those of the George Edwards Hall, which is a little old and run down. So much work has been completed already, surely Plas Kynaston Hall could be completed with grants from the lottery for example. Might I also ask whatever became of the beautiful marble fireplace in the main saloon at the Hall? I trust that this is in storage somewhere ready to be returned upon completion and has not been sold or even worse.

Thank you Aiden. Is there a website that development of the project can be 'watched'?

I'm not familiar with the Dee Valley Community Partnership projects - anyone know why Rhosymedre Church is on the list? Surely they're not going to close or demolish it.

All three of the buildings shown play a very large part in the history of Cefn Mawr and I sincerely hope that a future can be found for them. The George Edwards Hall in particular has been the centre of all forms of entertainment from celebrity concerts with the Cefn Mawr male voice choir to pantomime. On Saturday nights the queues to get admission to see a film stretched back to by the Palace Hill. I saw my first film there as a schoolboy. Having been away from the area for some long time I am not in a position to suggest what these buildings might be used for but I am sure there must be plenty of people out there who could think of something.

I don't know what the Dee Valley Community Partnership have in mind, but I think Plas Kynaston Hall would make a good Community Hall, where small events and local meetings could take place or perhaps some sort of Centre, or workshops for the Cefn youth to chill out.
