I know that school, the Head Master is now Mr David Davies. Who was the head master/mistress in the '20s and '30s?

The little boy holding the photograph is John Edwin Hughes, also known as John DCM because his father won that award during the First World War. I know that this information is correct because John was my husband Mark's grandfather and he showed us the same picture and pointed out his key role in the day's proceedings. He was born in 1916 which may give a clue to the age of the picture.

I attended Cefn primary school during the mid/late '60s. One thing that bugs me is the Welsh school. We used to play them ('The Welshies') at football on the adjacent field during the lunch break - but I never knew any of them, or where they lived. Can anyone shed any light? Peter

Miss Barrick taught me to do joined-up writing. Her classroom was to the right of the main assembly room when entering from the school yard.

Does anyone know how old the boys would be in Standard 2 in the late '20s or early '30s?
