HELP! I've just seen a UFO

Weird's UFO section was set up to discuss sightings in NE Wales. However, due to the number of postings we receive, we have set up this page where we'll highlight other accounts from further afield.

N.B. Please use our guide to Weird weblinks to find other websites where you can discuss issues outside of this area of interest.

Last night I saw a object about 300m in the sky. It was orange and glowing and then when it got above us the lights suddenly went off, but we could still it in the darkness, it was oval and looked to be spinning. After about 10 mins of looking it disappeared over the St Anne's pier and flew over the sea. About 5 other families saw it and were also convinced it wasn't a plane (because the lights went out) and wasn't a lantern (because would it be spinning and come lower then go higher again?). Could this be a sign of extra terrestrial life? I think so.

3 of us were in the garden on 23/06/2008 about 9pm and we saw what looked like a bright orange/red light. On closer viewing, it almost looked like flames coming off a plane. However, it was totally silent and headed off in the Heathrow direction then disappeared into the clouds. I've lived there 16 years and never seen anything like it.

Me and my dad also witnessed the 'ball of fire' travelling over our heads on Saturday the 20th June around 11:45pm, guess this was how long it took to travel from Warrington?!

Whilst at a friend's on Saturday in Newton 20/6/09 I again saw strange orange lights in the sky. I am glad that my friends saw them as well. They were moving across the sky glowing and then hovered silently. Again they were very high and silent. Did anyone else see them? Later on in the evening another one appeared. If they are lanterns why were they not blown away by the wind?

I have just seen the strangest object in the sky, an orange ball like object travelling at speed (Looked like it was on fire) and then it disappeared after about a minute. It was very odd. Shouted my wife who also saw it (thankfully!). It was travelling from west to east over Warrington (Old Burtonwood Airbase) How bizarre! Just wondering has anyone else seen this at 11.15 pm Sat 20th June 2009?

10 June 2009: I saw a strange orange glow in the sky, not moving at all. Cloud came over and when the cloud passed the orange ball was in a different but nearby area. Not moving. Eventually it moved slowly in an easterly direction - a straight line until out of sight.

Couldn't believe there are so many others that have seen these large orange balls! I was woken last night, aprox 1:30am, Sat 6th June, by a man outside who was talking loudly on his phone to a friend saying that he was watching a UFO in the sky! When I got up and looked outside my window sure enough in the southern sky there was quite a large orange ball moving in a western direction very slowly! I have no idea what it was but it looked heated. I could believe it was a Chinese Lantern, if I knew what one in the sky looked like, but my only doubt with this is that it seemed a lot larger than what I imagined one to look like, and it seemed to move in a completely straight path totally undisturbed by the night's breeze. I think it was mentioned in one of these other posts and I'm not sure if it is important, but last night also was a big full moon?

I was at my in laws house on Saturday having a barbeque and at 00:26 we saw a bright light in the sky travelling at a very fast pace. It was like nothing I have ever seen before.

I was sunbathing and I saw a silver/white coloured object which looked like it was comming in and out of the atmosphere like it was disappearing and coming back. It was at about 6pm on Sunday in Liverpool. I tried to video it on my phone but it was too far.

I was at my friend's BBQ the other night and it was around half past midnight and I noticed a bright light that was travelling at great speed. The light was travelling noticably faster than the other aeroplanes that were in the night sky at the time. It looked just like a giant ballon but with a bright flame inside, it was really weird. The group of friends that I was with also saw the bright light which was reassuring that it wasn't just me. Within a few minutes another light followed the first one, they were both going in a perfectly straight line while flashing just like the lights at a pelican crossing. No noise came from the lights which is strange as they were only around cloud level. After around two minutes both lights vanished behind the clouds. It was a confusing experience but also changes what I think about all this space and weird sightings topic.

I was 13 years old when I saw my first and only UFO. I was waiting for a bus with 2 older boys. 7:30 in the morning bright day when suddenly this rainbow coloured very fast zig-zaggy thing was right above us but still in our horizon. It was very fast but stopped at every end of zig-zag. Sorry, probably lost you there. I still can't quite understand what I saw! I am now 37. It was in the countryside of France, near Limoges (centre of France). I still remember it like it was yesterday. Very beautiful. It was quite large and left a trail of colour behind it. But I am glad I wasn't on my own! Also very reassuring to know that somebody else saw it!

In all honesty I have never before really thought about UFOs or anything of the kind until last night - at approx. 10.05pm. My mum had put our dog out in the garden, 5 mins later I opened the patio door & let her in. When doing so I glanced up to the sky and in all my 23 years have never seen anything like what I saw. I was absolutely stunned. There I saw 3 boldly glowing, orangey-red, round, silent floating (though speedily floating) in a south westerly direction! I shouted my mum who was in the kitchen, she came and I saw the same shock on her face as I had just experienced. She then urged me to get my dad. As I did 3 more appeared, one behind the other, unevenly spaced out yet all roughly at the same height. We all stared in disbelief wondering what these objects were (my parents are amongst the most rational/logical people you can come across, so to see them so shocked/baffled was also strange for me to see). Altogether we saw about 8 (as we stood on our patio for what we think was about 1-2 minutes) then they seemed to rise higher in the sky just above our house, then all of a sudden vanish! We tried to think of every possible logic answer to the question of what it was we had just witnessed, but nothing fitted! It was the most strange eerie experience we have ever had!

I saw around 20 bright orange lights flying fast, low and silently over London on the 24th May about 9.15. There were too many of them to be aeroplanes. I saw them from the roof of the flats I live in and was joined by another resident - neither of us has ever seen anything like this before.

I was on my way home after working at a club in Birkenhead, I always call to check my parents' house, just security conscious. As I had done my perimeter check I noticed an orange glow, about 400ft heading SE towards the Mersey [Sunday 24/05/2009 02.30]. It was too high for an approach to the John Lennon airport, no sound or flashing tail lights to indicate an aircraft. I watched it approx 20 secs, then it just faded into nothing.

After watching the Eurovision song contest on Saturday night, 16 May, I went upstairs to shut the blinds, and to my amazement saw 4 orange lights coming towards our house in Connah's Quay. They came from the south and headed north going over our house in Connah's Quay. I called my husband and we both went outside and watched them. They travelled steadily and quietly towards the Flintshire Bridge then went out of sight. Did anyone else see these orange lights?

When I was a child in the late 70s/early 80s me and a friend (Elenor) saw a red disc fly across the woods on the Ford Estate... hovered briefly over the car park area on Fairbeech Court where we were playing and then flew back across the woods and out of sight. It was about the size of a mini bus, though disc shaped.

On 1l May 2009 at 22:05 hrs I saw a glowing orange object move across the sky. I watched it as it moved east to westwards until it disappeared. It moved silenty but quickly and was quite low. No sooner had it had disappeared another exactly the same appeared and followed the same path as the first one. I have no explanation of what they were but have not seen anything like it before.

What you are witnessing is nothing less than Chinese lanterns. Everyone's releasing them into the air every night of the week now that the joke has caught on.

Andy, Staffordshire (re Saltney 09/05)
Re Nia, Saltney. I was staying with friends in Saltney on Saturday night 09/05 and we all witnessed the orange lights in the sky. There were 5 of them which made their way across the sky at a height of what I'd guess was 200-300ft in silence. My first guess was they were Chinese lanterns but considering there was hardly a breath of wind and these were travelling at 50-80mph in a slightly erratic fashion would rule this out and unlike aviation lights which are strong bright points of light, these were soft orange glowing balls. I like to think I'm a logical thinker but I can't offer an explanation.

Saturday 9th May 2009 @ 10.25pm. I received a phone call on my mobile + went to my back door to light a cigarette whilst talking with my friend, as I looked up I noticed two strange coloured orbs in the sky - it freaked me out + when I described what I was looking at to my friend he quickly said ''film it'' + hung up on me! I had only just got my new mobile a couple of weeks before + hadn't yet used the camera, so instead of flapping about - I just watched what was happening in the sky. The two orbs were fairly big in comparison with the stars, they were bright orange with a slight red hue around the outside, one seemed to be following the other one, though they kept exactly the same distance apart + were fairly low flying. They were moving slowly + there was no sound + looked like nothing I have ever seen before. I watched them for a couple of minutes before one gradually disappeared, then when the second one hit the same spot that too disappeared. I phoned my friend back to say what had happened + then as I looked to my left I saw two more + the only way I could describe it to my friend was like ''two balls of fire in the sky''. The orange colour in the second two seemed to be more intense + brighter. I hung up the phone + got the camcorder out + filmed them. Exactly the same thing happened, one seemed to be following the other, same distance apart throughout, travelling slowly, one disappered before the other + at the exact spot the first orbs disappered. The footage doesn't do any justice, to what i saw with my own eyes. I have never seen anything like this before + I'm amazed to read other people's accounts even described using the same words!

Last night (9/5/09) I was closing the curtains upstairs when I saw a bright orange ball high in the sky. It was not an aircraft and it made no noise. It appeared to flicker and smaller orange bits fell down. I called my husband to look and we watched it for about 4 mins. It appeared to be hovering and then just faded away. We thought it looked like a plane on fire. Did anyone else see this? It was really weird!

As previous witnesses have described, circular, glowing orange, "crafts", moving silently across the sky, observed from Neston, Wirral. The night sky, 22.25hrs, misty, but stars clearly visible, also a full Moon which added to the incredible sight. I watched three, one approx 10 seconds in advance of the trailing two, moving from left (from N.Wales,) to right, fading only with distance covered. Two people there before me, had watched SIX, moving in the same direction/orbit. I have never witnessed ANYTHING like it before in my life, and at that moment felt awestruck and amazed. I am fifty years old, a family man, I hold a responsible job, was once sceptical of such sightings,Iam no longer.

Last September I had a dramatic sighting of 2 black triangles. It was in the local press in the weeks afterwards and at least 2 other locals also saw the triangles. They were hovering just above the treetops next to the motorway! I stopped my taxi and got out, and they slowly, silently started to move towards me, then they both turned and headed up the motorway away from me, one splitting off to the right. They were each the size of a small passenger jet and were absolutely silent. It was awe-inspiring! They were so graceful, and something so big should not be silent when it's in the air, which was possibly the most eerie part of the whole experience.

In the early hours of this morning at approx 2:45am a bright green fireball appeared in the night sky with a white centre and a slight red hue around the edge moving downwards in a line towards the sea. It was only visible for a second and unfortunately my vision of where it went was obscured by a house. It was heading downwards (from my point of view) into the sea off Rhyl in the direction of the new wind turbines, roughly North to South. I could hear a jet in the sky at the time but couldn't see it, the stars were visible and there was little cloud. Also, the light didn't reflect off anything nearby or off any of the clouds. It seemed to appear from nowhere and quickly reach an intensity. Probably the weirdest thing I've ever seen in the sky. I'm interested that Matt Deeley and his father saw something on the same night - did anyone else see anything odd this morning?

One night at exactly 10 o'clock myself and five other friends saw orange glowing objects in the sky. They were the same distance apart and there must have been at least 20. As we gazed at them one dropped from the group and disappered from sight. And then they disappeared apart from three which were left. We looked away and then they were gone.

On the 29th of April 2009 00:15AM approx, I was sitting in my bedroom playing on my xbox 360. I looked out of my window only to see three bright orange lights travelling over Brownsea island in a westerly direction. I ran to my dad to tell him and he was already at the window wondering what on earth they were. They continued to move until they were no longer in our view, but suddenly another two followed in the same direction but they were closer to us. We got a video of them but it was hard to see. It appeared to purge some sort of spray out of the rear and then they too went out of our sight. Later that night at approx 01:44AM another one drifted along the same route the others had taken. This seemed to be on its own and it did the same as the other one before it, purges some sort of substance out and keep on going until out of view. We have no idea what these things were, they looked like balls of fire floating in the sky, whether this is a display of nature or something totally different, we will never know.

Last night 12/4/09 at about 22:45 my daughter and I noticed 5 bright orange lights in a vertical line in the sky. They followed each other quite slowly to a certain point then flickered and disappeared one at a time when they came to this same point. Just as the last one vanished, we noticed another one coming over the horizon. This was soon followed by another and another until there were six following the exact same path as the previous ones. They again vanished one at a time at the exact same point. Can anyone explain what this was? We're intrigued!

On the 24th Jan '09 at about 7.15pm I saw three very bright, orange lights in the sky. I was sitting in the kitchen, speaking to my mother on the telephone when I saw the lights approaching over the roof-tops - we live on the top of a hill and I could clearly see them approaching. At first I thought that they were helicopters (which regularly pass here) but realised that there was something diferent about them. I went into the garden for a better view, expecting them to have passed over the house by the time that I arrived outside. However, they had slowed right down and were by this time almost at the bottom of my garden, at about the same height that a low helicopter would fly at. By then I could see that they were very bright, orange globes. They were travelling south-west to north-east and there was no sound whatsoever. At this point I spotted a forth globe approaching swiftly from the same direction as the first ones had come from. Two of the original three then changed direction and headed off towards the north-west (Elesmere Port / Liverpool direction) while the third appeared to wait for the fourth one to catch up. As the forth grew nearer, the one that had waited slowly followed the first two, the forth then changed direction and followed. In all I watched them for possibly 5 minutes or more, providing my mother with a running commentary throughout. She continually made suggestions as to what they might be (weather balloons, aeroplanes etc etc) but I'm afraid that they did not look like any of these and were also not initially at those heights. As they moved away from me they rose higher and higher in the sky, finally disappearing into the night. I am so glad to have found other sightings posted as I could not believe that I was the only one to have seen them.

Hi me my family and pretty much the whole of my street have just seen 7 balls of what looked like fire in the sky! We have thought about the fact that they could have been hot air balloons, however they were much too big, furthermore we have though of the fact that they could have been paper lanterns with lights in however again they were much too big, as they passed a star in the sky they were at least double the star's size, so no chance that they were what we first thought! They all turned when they got to the same spot, and then disappeared. There was no noise whatsoever until the last one and then this one hovered high in the sky above our houses and then disappeared before our eyes. There was also no way that these objects were aircrafts such as planes or helicopters as like said before they were far too big, moreover they were much faster than an aircraft! If anyone has seen anything tonight in the same area could you please let me know on here. Thank you.

There were thousands of sightings reported to emergency authorities this past weekend all along the east coast of the US. All said it looked like "balls of fire". Some even heard an explosion of some sort. No one knows what it was. Weather people say it wasn't anything in nature...

Last night, 16 March '09 at approx 20.00hrs, I saw a huge bright orange light in the sky, travelling east from a south westerly direction. I ran out to my back garden with my girlfriend and my 12 year old son and we were all gobsmacked at what we were seeing. It was barrel-shaped (upright) and glowed bright orange, similar to a street light. Directly above my home is a stacking bay for Heathrow. The object was much lower than the aircraft that we could see circling and was perhaps the same height if not slightly lower than the aircraft that had just taken off in an easterly direction from London City airport. The object made no noise whatsoever and was moving quite fast in a direction that I wouldn't normally see any aircraft fly. My girlfriend took a photo of the object and my son managed to capture it on video using his mobile phone, although neither images are convincing. The object travelled east, getting smaller as it did so then disappeared.

I have noticed for a long time now that there is a bright light over my house most nights. It seems too near and bright for a star and it moves, sometimes it has been overhead, other times it has been in the distance. I have not seen it move it just appears in different places, mostly overhead. They were taken in Buckley, North Wales. So far I don't believe in UFOs and have not taken much notice of people who say they do. I am 63 and spend my time working part-time, babysitting my grandchildren, sewing and keeping myself to my! self, but this is making me curious.

About 3 years ago I was looking at the night sky, as I am an amateur astronomer. 3 very bright lights about the magnitude and color of Venus came over in formation. They must have been very large if they were reflecting sunlight. I was an avid unbeliever in UFOs but since seeing them I believe. There was definitely intelligent life on them as one flew out of formation and then back in, then they just disappeared as if they went into the Earth shadow. I know the stars and meteors and I know what the space station looks like. These were very strange and fast.

I saw 2 orange balls around 8.30pm on Sunday night. They were going at a steady speed, one in front of the other. There was no sound coming from them, and this is the second time I've seen these. Pretty much in the same area. Don't know what they are but they are doing my head in!

My boyfriend and I saw 2 red large UFOS on the way back from my work, Kingsmead Sainsbury's, and as we walked towards the new riverside houses across the field he pointed them out. One grew very bright, and white, then vanished. The other, after they had been hanging in the same spots for some time, raced away out of sight (still remaining red/orange) This was in broad daylight at about 4pm in August of 2008. After we had made it some way back to my student house, there were 4 police vehicles along Broad Oak Road, one was a van sat outside and the door was open, so we decided to ask what had happened. The guy was like "Nothing's wrong. Don't worry about it", and we went indoors. Out the window, the road opposite had been cordoned off, and people were looking out on their balconies. One woman was wearing like a white forensic suit, it was bizarre. 3 others were gathered around the wall, writing some kind of report. It freaked us out big time 'cause we thought something had landed. No-one was allowed down that road. In Canterbury! Scary. I'm sure a lot of people saw them, but I'm sure some people wouldn't report their sightings for fear of being considered quacks.I think a lot of people saw them, not sure how many reported though.

I was walking down Southwood Rd on the beach and saw a bright orange light moving at a rapid speed, too fast for a plane, had no flashing lights...weird. The second sighting was near the same place. My girlfriend lives on the beach front you see. Anyway there was a bright light appeared, it was moving quite slowly but had an orange streak like thing then it picked up speed quickly and then it was gone in a flash but the streak was just fading away. Crazy or what.

I, like a lot of people, have seen these glowing orangey red things in the sky. I have seen 6 now in the past month. My brother on his way to Wales tonight on the M42 also saw 2 of these things. All I would like to know is what are they?

3 orange balls, definitely round with what appeared to be a static flame inside, no flickering, no smoke. The first one seen above house and I got a good look. It moved off across - not up. Not a lantern, it gradually went up and it wasn't floating. It was deep orangey red.

About 8pm last night I was stood in my kitchen and [outside] I saw this bright orange light. It moved several times quite fast and then disappeared, then came back and didn't move, then moved again. It was not a plane as I know what the lights are like. It was so strange - very creepy.

I saw a floating long object with green and red lights. It may be an illusion but it looked very real to me. Do you know where I can find help to talk about my experience? I also felt a strong wind later that night that appeared supernatural.

About a month ago I was at my back door having my usual cigarette. It was between 5pm and 6pm. It had just started to get dark. In the sky, not very high up, was a large orange light. It looked very much like a star but I know it wasn't. It moved very slowly upwards and across the sky for about 3 minutes. I telephoned my sister, who lives upstairs, and I told her to look out of the window. Whilst I was on the telephone to her I put my flip flops on and went out into the garden to see if I could get a better look. As I moved out into the garden the light had vanished. Completely gone. There was no explanation for this. No noise. Def not a plane. I don't know what it was but it was definitely something.

I've just got home at 11.15pm and as I got out the car I watched at least 10 bright orange lights move slowly and in formation accross the sky until they disappeared, there was at least 6 of us witnessed this strange event.

Around August 2006 I was working late at a holiday resort near Rhuddlan. I had no transport to get home that night so usually I'd just walk the 2 mile journey. Somewhere between 3-4 o'clock the silence of the early morning was broken by the seagulls making the strange distressed sounds. Confused, I looked up to see if I'd disturbed them, and I kid you not I saw a huge bright light slowly moving east. I took a double take and it was still there. I just stood staring it was like nothing I'd seen before. I don't know what it was and I'm not willing to call it Alien but it certainly was something special. All my mates think I'm mad but I know what I saw. I just needed another witness. I like to think I saw a meteorite passing by.

Me and my friend were driving around North Bransholme and saw this orange light in the sky. I thought it was something on fire but it kept moving north-east. Then I thought it was a plane but they usually have two lights and make a noise, so that was ruled out. Then I thought the police helicopter but that always makes a right racket even at a further distance than this thing. So me and my friend decided to follow it to see if we could get a better look at it. We found it again and it seemed to be heading in our direction and still be above the houses and still silent, it curved smoothly and started to go higher. So we tried to follow it again but lost it.

Yer, I haven't seen this first hand myself but there are some videos of similar sites on youtube, posted by CNN news. One video shows two recordings ppl made, one in Mexico and one in India showing bright orange lights moving low across the sky. It's unclear how many there are as more seem to appear and some fade before becoming clear again. One actually looks as though it begins to descend behind a tree in the distance in the Mexico one.

Saw it again at 5pm (26 Jan). Unfortunately, couldn't get it on camera (as I noticed it, it disappeared!). Seems to be about dusk when it appears for some reason in pretty much the same area. This is the 3rd time Iseen this now, maybe 4th time lucky with a camera, heh?!

I saw the two orange orbs, as did my mum and partner just off the M62 on way home from Liverpool to St Helens Saturday 24th Jan 09 at approx 7.45. I though it was a plane from the airport but the lights didn't intermittently flash and weren't like that of a plane. Just a complete orange ball and another in close succession. Vanishing into oblivion after me watching them for about 2 minutes. We all thought it very stange! They were quite low.

Couple of weeks back I saw an orange light in the sky above Rhuallt Hill, near the A55. Thought it was a helicopter so carried on driving. Then a few days later saw the same thing in the same place. Spoke to my neighbour the other night and he said he saw a ufo the same time I saw this light. Defo gonna keep an eye out for it again, this time with a camera!

I was setting off on a jog when I noticed a really bright light in the sky. At first I did think it was just a plane but they where too bright. Then I was thinkng it may be the police helicopter but there was no noise. It seemed to hover for 5mins then move in short bursts. It could not have been a star because it was moving then hovering. It happened at 18:30 Friday 23rd Jan 2009 looking from St Helens towards Liverpool.

I observed a small red-orange ball moving from south to northeast, Jan.20, 2009. At three seperate spots I observed what looked like sparkling material coming down from the ball to the ground. I took my dog inside as I thought it strange and didn't want to get hit by whatever was coming down. I thought it to be a helicopter at first but as it moved toward me it had no noise. I went to get binoculars but it was gone when I came back outside. I find the whole episode somewhat unsettling.

On the 13th January 2009 I spotted a bright orange/red UFO above my house almost as though it was having a look through the living room window. Once I spotted it it appeared to fly away slowly at first and then very quickly. I followed it with my eyes into the distance until it turned extremely sharply (at least 90 degrees) to the left and zipped off upwards into the sky with awesome speed and manouverability. It moved too quicly too be a helicopter, private plane (eg Cesna) or Airliner. It had a speed and manouverability more comparable to a jet fighterbut it seemed much faster and more agile and was completely silent. There is no way this thing was a jet fighter because I would have heard the the jet engines especially with the speed it was travelling at. It's got me thinking especially due to the huge increase in UFO sightings recently and the fact that many of them describe a bright orange/red object moving with tremendous speed and manouverability. My brother witnessed everything so I wasn't hallucinating. Alien visitors?

I was leaving a friends house at 9.50 last night (15/01/09) when I looked up to see a fireball in the sky. I called to my friend who also saw it. It was huge and orange. Couldn't believe my eyes. I am not going mad and I wasn't alone at the time.

When I finished work in the chip shop in Moreton at 11:47pm with my parents, I saw a weird bright shinging orb of light that was orange and slightly yellow. It was smoking slightly as well as moving at the same time. It was quiet and we didn't hear any noise. My parents were astonished by the sight.

On Friday 9.1.09 at about 21.20 I saw a round orange light similar to the colour of a street lamp, high up in the sky (but nowhere near as high as an aeroplane). It was moving horizontally, quite quickly from the south west across the sky to the north. It was not making any sound at all and it was a quiet night. I called my daughter and both of us watched it until the hill blocked our view. It kept the same speed up and moved in a straight line across the sky. It was only a couple of minutes before it was gone from our view.

In all seriousness, I must agree that what I saw must have been a Chinese lantern. Oddly enough that is what I thought I was seeing at first, but the spectacle lasted for so long that logic gave way to imagination and I assumed (never assume anything!) that a burning aircraft must be the next most logical explanation. After all, who in their right mind would send a large, well-fuelled incendiary device aloft over populated areas with the mindset that 'no harm will come of it'! What goes up must come down. Yes, I detest fireworks, downright dangerous and irresponsible if you ask me, or better still ask a firefighter. I'd sooner be visited by superior beings from Outerspace.

I was just walking near the beach and there was a sliver of light in the sky and it moved in a jagged quick line toward me, very fast, from far out in the ocean... It hovered over me and I was so scared that I ran!

I have just seen something in the sky that if not strange, certainly requires some explanation. I was looking out if my kitchen door (Friday 9th Jan - about 9:30), and I spotted an orange globe in the sky. It was moving in a south to north path accross the sky. Then a short way behind it came a second orange ball taking exactly the same path, promptly followed by a third. Not quite believing what I was seeing, I went inside and asked my daughter to join me. We both went into the front garden as the globes had now passed over. We then noticed three more following, equidistant from each other, making six in all. There was no noise, (not a helicopter or planes), and they had a dull orange glow which seemed to pulse rather then a constant light. Certainly they were all following the same route, eventually going higher into the sky before we lost sight of them. We are sure that many others must have seen them. Can anyone offer any explanations?

My daughter and our neighbour came running in on Thursday (8th) around 8.15pm and shouted come and look at this! My son and myself went out and at great height in the sky was what can only be described as one of these fireballs! Certainly not an aircraft of any sorts and not a Chinese latern! We watched for around ten minutes with this object glowing and moving ever so slightly! I can't say what it was and the kids were asking me "what is it" but that's certainly a first for me! In the end the 'fireball' just died down as such and vanished! Beats me what it was!

I was out with friends on the evening about 8 or 9 o clock on the 7th of Jan. I noticed a light in the sky almost like a police helicopter light but with no sound. It was very bright like a fireball. Maybe like a street light in the distance but 400 or 500ft in the air. As I watched it for 10 seconds it did not move and had lights beeming down like a police helicopter but the shining light span around a 360*. As I was with my friends, I was still in the same place with them, and iI kept my eye on it. And used a fence pole as a landmark to see if this thing moved! For an hour or two it stayed in the same place at the 500ft in the sky and still didn't move. Then the fireball like object just disappeard after the hour an a half of me noticing it! I saw this over Towyn/Belgrano Way. I was in Kinmel Bay at the time.

My partner was putting the rubbish out on Sunday 04 January at about 7.00 when we saw an oval shaped object that made no sound and was bright orange and was slow moving. By the time my parner had put the rubbish in the bin the object has completley disappered.

It was new years eve 2008/09 at approximatley 12.20 after the firworks on Fishguard Square. I was walking home with a neighbour and I noticed a fireball moving in the sky. We hadn't even had a drink. I wondered if it was a plane on fire. I had never seen anything like it before. By the time we had got to the house it was gone.

A few days ago I managed to capture 3 orange lights in the sky on tape. My frends and I watched them for 40mins before they vanished. Looking at the paper today and there was a crash where a wind turbine had a blade missing and another twisted by a UFO and also people reporting 3 orange lights in the sky.

Sunday 28th December 10.15pm I saw a an orange ball of light in the sky travelling slowly from the ESE. I thought it was a plane but the size and colour of the light was wrong. I called my husband and we both watched it travel slowly to the NW. The light was low in the sky, travelling slowly and looked like it was flickering. There was no engine noise from a plane or helicopter or microlite. It couldn't be a hot air balloon or blimp, no structure could be seen, no sound heard. It followed a wavering path to the NW, not like a plane would fly and eventually disappeared into the cloud in the distance. I've only just found this website or I would have asked earlier if anyone knew what it was.

I was watching the new year's fireworks from my window at about 12:05 when me and my partner saw 3 red/orange lights in the sky. They were moving very slowly and in weird formation under the low cloud, it was very strange. But I had seen these lights before, usually late at night. What could it be, I would love to know?
Thu Jan 8 10:30:39 2009

Chill out everyone, what you are seeing is Chinese lanterns which seem to be very popular this Christmas and new year. Basically people are placing lighted candles under a plastic bag (much like a small hot air balloon) and letting them float off in small groups. Try it yourselves and see what the results are.

On new year's eve we were watching the fireworks. We saw what I thought was a flare at first but it was moving fairly slowly heading south down the coast. We ran upstairs to get a better look at this bright red object then upon looking again I saw 3 more in a triangle formation. They were all travelling in the same direction then they just seemed to fade away. Most unusual but I suppose we will never know eh? But we will be keeping our eyes peeled in future lol.

On 1st January 2009, upon leaving the pub at 12:55 am, myself and my girlfriend Jane also saw 4 bright orange lights, three in a triangle formation the fourth trailing behind, no noise, moving very slowly, heading north-east, above the Trafford Centre in Manchester. We were in Davyhulme area, as we had both had a drink we shouted our 2 teenage daughters, who had been babysitting for their niece close by, they too saw them. Also, we had a seen a similar light a few days previously. This was witnessed by myself my partner and daughter. Again no noise, moving very slowly then just seemed to disappear. There seems to be lots of sightings similar on new year's eve and Christmas time. Is this a sign? Are we really alone?

Re-Kate & Sue; Monday evening at about 19.12hrs I saw what I could only describe to my wife to come and see, as a burning aircraft travelling West to East, seemingly in a 'ball of fire'. I observed it for maybe 20 seconds as it continued on its flightpath until it disintegrated as one large chunk of red followed by a small bright fireball and then died out. It must surely have hit the ground in the Queensferry area. We expected to hear news of an air disaster but no such like has appeared in the news. Otherwise as all the other 'sightings' suggest - aliens are crap pilots!

On the 25th of December my mum called me out into the back garden to say she could see something in the sky that looked like it was on fire. I came out into the garden to see, it was in the direction of West Kirby. At first we thought it was a helicopter, then it seemed to stop, so we thought it was a fire lantern. After returning to work after the Christmas period I spoke to a workmate and he said he had witnessed the same thing. It really is like an episode of the X Files.

Last night about 6.10pm (05/01/09) we saw an orange light in the sky, hovering - something seemed to break off it and fall to the ground. Then shortly after this the orange light followed. From Kyle, Stu and Sam of the great Portsmouth city - we seem to have seen a similar object but from the Wirral side - looking across the river Dee to Wales. We drove down to the river front but could see nothing as it was so dark!

Approx 8.15pm on 26th Dec 2008 I was outside when I saw a very bright big orange light go across the sky at a moderate pace, no sound at all, it seemed quite low. I ran to the side of the road to see if I could see anyone else, but no! I watched the light for a quite a few minutes head over towards Trent Bridge, before it disappeared out of sight. I am convinced it wasn't a usual plane, there were no flashing lights - just one big orange ball! Anyone else see anything? No, I hadn't been drinking!

My partner and I saw a silent orange/red sparkling object over Bersham area on Christmas night. It stayed in view for 3 mins then moved off under the low cloud. It was NOT a plane - seen thousands of planes, not a falling star, it hung in the sky for mins. No, it was VERY strange and completely silent.

We were sat up on top of Portsdown Hill and we saw an orange light come up out of nowhere and it was fying around in the sky then it suddenly burst into what looked like flames and just dropped to the ground within feet of us but when we looked we couldn't see anything and we got pictures of it and videos as this happened about 10 times over all and we sat there for an hour and a half watching them, strange.

I saw two orange lights in the sky to the south just after midnight - I called my husband to look - he tried to film them on his mobile but could not pick them up. They just faded. We then saw another one to the North which travelled above us and disappeared. I was talking to my sister who lives on the Isle of Man on new years day - she said she had also seen the lights on new years eve.

Tonight I saw my first ufo. Like a lot of the stories below, it was a bright orange light travelling through the sky, and as it got closer it got smaller? That doesn't really make sense, but it eventually got so small that it disappeared. I'm in london, not sure if any one else saw the same thing. I was with a few people who could say the same, so I'm definitely not imagining what I saw! Argh, so excited.

On 28th Dec observed a glowing orange light fairly low in the sky travelling towards West Kirby from Saughall Massie where we were located. It had no noise and was moving fairly fast, we watched it for several minutes until it eventually disappeared. Thought it was a bit weird however I saw the same thing again last night 3/1/09 over West Kirby, me and a freind watched it come to a stop and then slowly get smaller and smaller until it disappeared. I'm a sceptic but I have no explanation as to what this was. I ruled out plane, helicopter (no noise), Chinese lantern (it stopped and was too high), fireworks (it was in the sky for a long time). Really interested to see if anyone else has seen anything like this.

On xmas eve on leaving the house at 10pm we stood outside for a few minutes looking at a bright light over our local hospital. It seemed to have a darker dome with what we thought was a balloon. It stayed there, quite low and as it was a very quiet evening were puzzled why we could not hear the burners, it made no sound at all. After a while it moved upwards and disappeared. We had not been drinking but as it was that time of the year did not make any enquiries. This was not the first time for me to see these UFOs, I have seen two, but in daylight.

At approx 10.10pm on Saturday, observed three orange/red objects in the sky, two in close proximity, with the third a distance away. They faded out one by one (after about three minutes) and then one returned, moved at various speeds and then was gone. Anyone else see similar?

Very strange to hear a lot of people seeing a number of orange glowing flying objects. I was at a party (the mother-in-laws) on new years eve (2008). Not long after midnight, about 20 minutes (00:20) while we were all out side watching the firework display I noticed one orange glow coming out just below the low clouds. At first I thought it's a plane, but planes don't have orange lights. A couple of seconds later, following the first one was another, then another two. All disappeared one by one into the low clouds never to be seen again.

My mates and I were ALL sober at the time and I was the one that originally first noticed it, it was flying over the pt Adelaide police station...and it looked like a BIG bright orange star. I wasn't sure so I asked a mate of mine to look as well, he looked and said wow that thing is cruising (going fast) anyway we kept watching it and it flew for a bit then STOPPED in mid air and it started pulsing going very bright then very dim and etc. When it went very dim it came back very bright...then all of a sudden it was like the bottom of it had exploded and a fire ball fell out of the star like thing. We looked back up and the first star thing was still there stopped in mid air. We looked back down and the fire ball was sill falling. Then both of them just vanished. It was a very clear night sky. There were low clouds and this UFO was flying under the clouds very low. It was AMAZING. I wish I had recorded it but everyone in the car said that they were hypnotised to it they couldn't take their eyes off it. There is no way this could have been a plane. It was silent and stopped in mid air. It was bright amber coloured and didn't stick around for too long! None of us were drinking or smoking anything, all sober! Very curious about what we saw since you don't get this too much in Adelaide.

My wife and I where camping at Chertsey Camping and Caravanning Site on NYE just after midnight, sober, 12.20ish. Another two couples stopped us and asked us what we thought this object was. It was a round vessel high in the sky, not an aeroplane or star or firework. It had orange lights in a circle, there was no sound/noise. it was stationary for 10 minutes and then a further 4 mins, it went smaller as if moving away from us and then suddenly shot off into the atmosphere. My husband is a twin, and his other twin rang tonight 2/1/2009 and told us he saw a similar vessel in the sky over Prescot in Merseyside. At first we thought he was joking thinking he had heard our experience, but he swore on several things that it was the truth, unbelievably in the past what happens to one twin happens to the other! I spoke to my sister in law and she also confirmed what she saw, how weird is this.

I was leaving my friend's house at approx 12.30 am on New Years eve with my husband and children when I looked up for fireworks. As it was a cloudless night, the stars were very clear. Amongst them was what looked like a star that was glowing orangy/red. I pointed out to my husband who seemed to think it was moving very slowly. As we got the children in the car, I kept looking at the very strange bright object. But I had to put my head in the car to fasten my daughter in her car seat. When I looked back it was gone. We looked and there was no evidence of it ever being there. And if it was moving very slowly we should have been able to see it somewhere in the sky and it wasn't anywhere. Did anyone else see them over Ashton under Lyne area on new years eve?

After watching a fab firework display on New Year's Eve, a few of us stayed outside. Suddenly, 3 bright orange lights appeared in the formation of a huge triangle. This was about 12.45am. I think somethings going on, and they want to be seen!

Myself and my husband were watching TV last night (30 Dec 08) when all of a sudden we noticed a very bright orange light in the sky. As we are in the flight path of Manchester Airport we thought it was a plane on fire, and ran out of the house to look, I also took the video camera & recorded what appeared to be a burning light travelling north, with no sound. Did anyone else witness this?

New year's eve 2008-2009 not sure of exact time but it was late at night possibly 12-3am. A bright orange dot was noticed by me and my friends just above the horizon. I first thought it was a firework but as it was so slow and lasted so long this was ruled out. It moved up slowly until it reached pretty much straight above us. Then flickered a few times and disappeared. It was visible for around 2-3 minutes. We don't think it was a plane due to its colour but more to the point, it was really foggy and cloudy. If it were a plane, it would have had to have been really low for us to see it so clearly but there was no noise to hear. A friend of mine had seen two others that night, I only saw the one. I have no idea what it was and id love to find out. The idea of it being and alien spacecraft is a ridiculous assumption but it has baffled me. I don't believe it to be a Chinese sky lantern as it was travelling way too fast, plus I do not believe a candle flame would be bright enough to see so clearly so far away in such dense cloud and fog.

We had just seen the 2009 New Year in and looked out of a window which faces south. We saw one orange light in the sky which hovered for about 4 minutes in the same location and then moved away slowly until it was very faint. Then another orange light approached rapidly from a different direction until it reached the original location of the first light. At this point the first light then vanished. The second light hovered for a short period of time and this eventually faded upwards into the night sky. These were definitely not aircraft or fireworks and we were sober. Did anyone else see them?

On new year's eve 2008/2009 whilst getting some fresh air in our garden at 1am new year's eve/new year's day I looked up and saw in a line, what looked like 6 floating balls of fire going east. When I saw the first one clearing the house across the street I immediately thought it was a helicopter on fire but very soon realised it was not making any noise or coming down just floating east and accelerating about 20mph followed by the other 5 250 yrds apart. Half the sky over Blackburn was clear and half cloud covered so they were in view for about 5 minuits. I don't drink, don't do drugs, but I wanted sombody else as witness to this so I got my pensioner father up to have a look at them but by this time the last of the first six were in the clouds and he just caught the last one fading into the cloud cover but no more than 2 mins later another 4 passed over at exactly the same speed, height and I would say flight path. We both tried to explain it away to each other rationally ie manned balloons, battlefield rocket flares but I don't think we in any way convinced each other. There was no wind, never mind a 20mph wind, and the fires, lights whatever they were were gaining height and speed. I am hoping it will be explained away but this is nothing ordinary or normal.

I have just this moment seen a UFO! It was coming fairly low in the night sky through the glow of fireworks, an orangey-red ball with a yellow underside, getting nearer and nearer, it seemed. Then it suddenly stopped and moved slightly first to one side, then the other. Then it began to get smaller, very rapidly, as though it was going away from me at a fantastic rate until it just kind of blinked out from a pinpoint into the cloud cover! I was very careful to observe to see if it was some king of firework, but I am positive it was nothing of the kind. I also tried to discern if it was a police helicopter, but it was too unusual and unique - there are a lot of copters here. We are about 4 miles north of Blackpool - very strange.

31st December 2008, 22:15. We were coming home in the car when we saw an orange ball moving in the sky at a steady pace, at first we thought it was a plane or helicopter on fire, but when we stopped and got out of the car we saw that it wasn't making any noise. It certainly looked as if it was on fire, until it eventually disappeared slowly... Very strange!

Re John King photo 25th Oct 2008. I saw 2 lights identicle to the white light in this photo. But on the 18th December around 3pm while travelling on the A55 towards Britannia Bridge on Anglesey. Two lights in quick succession rose from the mainland around the area towards the Straits, or it could even have been more on the island around Foel / Plas Newydd. They rose very quickly and then I lost sight of them as they cleared the Snowdonia range background. Definitely NOT aircraft - I live on Anglesey nr RAF Valley and know a plane when I see one! However a RAF fighter plane did fly directly towards the lights as they vanished - maybe the RAF had spotted them? I really thought I was seeing things until I found this sight today while looking out of curiosity about UFO sightings.

We were walking out of our house at 8.30pm on Satarday the 27th of December and we both saw an orange ball, like a ball of fire floating through the sky. It didn't make any noise and wasn't flashing. It moved at a steady pace in a straight line then in a very quick zigzag then disappeared out of sight after about 30-45 seconds. This was in Blackpool, Lancashire.

When my gran said to me look what's that in the sky I looked up and saw it it was grey and it was moving but slow. I got my camera out and took some photos but they did not show that well in the photos. When we got home we told my grandad and my mum and they just laughed at us but I know it was there.

Location: Chorley, Lancs. 25.12.08 approx 8pm. I saw 4 orange lights with a huge gap in between each one, hard to tell due to distance away from me but they were all travelling at the same speed and height. As the 4th light went out of view, a 5th light appeared to be following but lower and nearer to me. There was no sound at all. This was seriously the most amazing thing I have ever seen and I am surely not on my own? Yes I was sober etc!

OK, the one of the orange lights are more likely than not air flares. Looking at the picture you can see the burn-off comming from the light below them. Also, it was mentioned they slowly moved away from each other while to the side which is something they commonly done when catching the wind.

At about 10.30pm on Friday the 5th of December. I was on the top football pitch on the high school fields when I looked up at random acros the Wirral and a big red light caught my eye. I told my friends and we watched as this ball of red separate into 2, then 4, then 6. The light then hovered for about 3 minutes and went back from 6 to 4 to 2 then to 1. That one ball then hovered again and at random - just vanished as if it had just dropped from the sky.

Me and my family also saw the same orange light moving very slow. There is nothing to compare it with. It was about 25th Nov 8.30. It moved very slow then changed direction not in a way possible for our planet that we know of. The light was very orange - it was not a flare. Please report if you see this when you get over the excitement.

Dave from Mold called us to say he saw a fireball in the sky over the town on Monday night. It was very bright, orange and red in colour. He reckons it could have been a meteorite and with there being other local sightings [mentioned below over Shotton and Elton] on the same flight path could suggest we've been experiencing a meteor shower over the last few days.

This was 28.11.2008. About 6.20pm. Seen from the back of our house by my wife and I. Two lights (one incredibly bright, one a bit less bright) travelling east to west. Their course never deviated and they travelled the same distance apart as we watched them. It was a calm frosty and starlit night but there was absolutely no noise of engines nor any evidence of vapour trails. As the lights got halfway to the horizon they suddenly disappeared without any further trace. They did NOT disappear into mist - we could clearly see stars beyond the position of the lights when they suddenly disappeared.

30/11/2008 @ 19.30 I saw a bright orange ball, or flame of light moving across the sky in a south westerly direction. It was moving quite fast but silent, I thought it was a burning meteorite, or a plane in trouble as we are on several flight paths but its speed did not decrease, and it did not head down to land. It went off into the distance and and faded to a spot and disappeared. Both me and my husband witnessed this and could not fathom what it was - any clues? This is the first time I have seen anything like this and I was wondering if anybody had seen something similar at this time.

Nov 28 2008, I was getting into my car outside my sister in law's house in Shotton about 7pm. I looked up and saw an orange glow travelling very slowly. It was then joined by 3 others and formed an almost vertical line. They hovered there for a minute or so and then were gone. Can anyone shed any light on this? My only thought was they could be hot air balloons and the orange glow was the burner firing up but 4 hot air balloons at night? Anyone else saw it?

Connie, Gt Harwood, Blackburn
At 5.50pm on Tuesday November 25 whilst travelling from Gt. Harwood Lancs. towards Blackburn, I saw in the sky but within my windscreen view three extremely bright white lights in the shape of a large triangle. No undercarriage lights. Because of the twists of the road, I lost sight for no more than 4 seconds but in that time another light had joined the right corner of the triangle. The road I took climbs and dips between the two towns and the air was crystal clear so my view was unhindered by cloud. As I dropped over the cusp of the hill I saw the additional light was no longer there. These lights never lost formation and were travelling quite slowly. I find it difficult to believe that with all the traffic around that night, no one else saw what I saw. The lights were as bright as huge led lights but had no beams and no undercarriage flashing lights. Was I seeing a UFO?

Tonight 16h November I was just out with the wife walking the dogs & we saw two sets of lights in the skies. One had a red rotating light rotating at low speed, the other was like an orange glow. The orange glow was in the lead & it looked quite low in the sky, the other red one followed the first, low to start off with then climbing higher until out of site. Weird thing is we could see the lights of other aircraft after these lights had disappeared in a similar area. Did anyone else see it too?

Eight friends and I were having a barbacue in Sept 08 when quite late on, we noticed 1 yellow light in the sky coming towards us in the distance. It was in the area of the Glasgow Airport flight path but it was heading across the flight path away from the airport. There was no flashing lights or noise from it and it suddenly disappeared. We assumed it had gone into cloud, however ten minutes later we looked up and were astounded to see three lights now several miles apart. Suddenly they moved and were directly above one another then the bottom two moved up to the top light and they all disappeared. It was the strangest thing we had ever witnessed and we were all speechless. Did anyone else see it?

I was walking down to dinner last night at about 7.15 I saw a little black dot in the sky in the direction of the church. I watched for a few minutes. It moved in a sort of a bendy zig zag way. As it got closer it looked just like a spitfire (2nd world war fighter plane). Then a teacher stopped me to talk to me. He only talked for about a minute but whenever I looked up again the object had disappeared. It was very slow so it couldnt have flown away so quickly.

I was taking pictures of dawn on 25th Oct 2008 at 07.45 and when I put them on to the computer I noticed that on one photo there was a brilliant white spot whereas on the second one taken just a few seconds later and no change to camera setting the spot was missing. I cropped the picture using but it did not give any true indication of what the object was. [Take a look at the photo here]

I was walking along my mate's street & this flying object was hovering above mine & my friend's head, it had three bright lights. It was about between 7 and half 7. It was quite low down. I didn't really believe in UFOs but now I do. 20th October 08. That's when I saw it.

Last night...my boyfriend & I went outside for a smoke and he gasped out loud "What the heck is that?" When I looked up, my mouth dropped open because I was seeing something I had never seen or even heard of before. It was a group of lights that looked similiar to stars but were much bigger. They were pretty bright. We stood with our mouths open for a good minute or so just mumbling what it could be. It wasn't planes, stars, or any kind of flying birds of the sort. It was very strange - between 20-40 of them, clustered together, moving across the sky making strange patterns and kind of sticking together as a team. I mean, they went from making a straight line to swirling around and forming all different shapes. It moved together across the sky fast but slow enough to catch a full minutes worth.

Oct 10th 2008, was walking my son's dog around 10.20pm EST, turned toward the south eastern sky on the halfway mark between the horizon and that point before needing to tilt one's head back to look up, when suddenly there appeared a ball of fire resembling a sun, quite large in size. The colour was mainly red with orange and yellow flame-like tendrils on the outer rim. It was stationary, remained for at least 15-20 minutes then simply disappeared. It did not fall from anywhere, nor move in any direction, it simply was there then it wasn't. I looked up information to see if it was a fireball or anything similar and could not find any concurring info that comes close to what I saw.

A couple of years ago now I randomly looked up at the night sky for some reason, my attention focused on 3 small lights arranged in the shape of a triangle moving very slowly in one direction, similar to the way a satellite would move across the sky but 3 of them. No sooner had I realised how unusual it was, they shot to the left, then to the right and then upward and faded into the distance staying as a triangle.

The Night of Power
On the eve of 28th September 2008 at 19.30 what I saw in the sky was remarkable. I have this on recording but only for about 15 seconds. My dear friends, whether UFOs exist or not, I have no clue but whatever I saw was the creation of Allah (God). It was a beautiful honey gold glowing objects about 8 of them flowing in the sky, they gradually moved on and did not fade away.

UFOs won't be UFOs for long. The federation of light have announced through Blossom Goodchild via a series of channelings, that they will arrive in our atmosphere in a craft so large that it will unmistakeably come from another planet. They will hang in our atmosphere for three of our 24 hour periods then fly off again. This will be enough for us to initially comprehend their existence. When they are satisfied that we won't all go crazy, they will come back, meet us and tell us the truth about religion, fear, and the control freaks that have ruled this planet for too long now. Arrival is 14th October 2008.

Last night at around 10pm, my friend and I discovered in the sky about a dozen red lights. They were moving at a pretty regular speed. We are both pondering as to what it is as the edges of the dots seemed to be flickering as if it was a comet. Unfortunately I have not found anything about comets that relates to the red dots that we saw. The dots seemed to form different shapes and then after about 5 minutes disappeared one by one. The dots started quite high up in the sky and came lower as they disappeared. I have never seen anything like this. It was a peculiar experience.

I witnessed 27/09/08, 3 orange lights in the sky followed seconds later by another 3 orange lights. This was in Rutherglen, Glasgow. Have reported this to the police but doubt if they'll take it seriously. It looked as though they were about the same height as an aeroplane, but with no noise and travelling too closely together than would be allowed. My daughter was with me in the car, and tried to film it with her phone for a minute and a half but when we got home - only 4 seconds had taped!

27th September 2008, I walked out of my house's front door when, as I got in my car, I glanced up to see several yellow/amber flickering lights, a couple faded then a couple more rose up from the bottom of the skyline. Then, after turning up at a friend's house, I looked up again and there was one over his house as well although this time a lot closer than last. I got my binoculars from my car and used them to see what it may have been in more detail. By doing this I could see that there was one bright light in the centre of this phenomenon with tiny lights surrounding it in a circular way. I could also see a faint outline of this object. This object then faded away almost instantly.

Me and my cousin were walking from our friends Saturday night at about 8 o'clock and I was telling him about these what looked like fire balls in the sky and when we looked up there were 2 to start with the 3 then 4 then all of a sudden this huge one came but it was very low. We kept looking at them and they seemed to fade then come back forming different shapes. Then, all of a sudden, they just disppeared but that's not the first time I had seen them.

On wednesday night, at about 19:40 we seen a strange light, then another joined it, then another. I took a quick video, and a few pictures. They were in an triangle shape. They were orangy/amber colour. They were pulsing. They moved away outwards slowly from each other. One disappeared, then another, then the last one did. I've never seen anything like this before. North Wales Newspapers was very interested in the pictures. Since then many other sightings and also on Thursday night.

I was in Greenwich SE10 21-9-2008. Saw a load of orange lights moving across the sky - no noise so they could not have been aeroplanes - for about 6 min. They were coming in waves of about 10 at a time. Scores of people saw them too but no one could be sure what they were...

Saturday 20th September 08 at around 11.10pm my wife called me from our back garden to say "come out and see this, those ufos are back". I went into the garden and we watched for about 10 minutes a stream of orange balls heading from the Rotherwas area of Hereford over our house in Whitecross. We'd seen one a few weeks ago traveling in the opposite direction. I even had time to get the binos to view the last three. They were silent and under power as there was no wind. A bit like round paper lampshades with an orange flickering light inside. Amazing!

Was on a rally last Saturday night. It had just finished about half three in the morning. We were waiting for the stage closing car to arrive so I was looking at the stars. I was facing the direction of Rhos mountain (I was near Chirk Caste at the time) when I saw a huge red light shoot directly up wards. I screamed at my mate who was with me at the time but by time he turned round it had gone. Don't know what it was. All I know it was red, large and moved at speed I've never seen before - straight up, then just disappeared. Was anything else seen that night?

Wednesday 17th Sept 8.30 - 9.15pm. I just happended to be looking out of my conservatory window and caught sight of a orange light moving across the sky. At first I thouight it was a plane or a helicopter but when I went outside in the garden for a closer look found there was no noise coming from the light at all. I watched the light move across my line of vision, it seemed to come from the south and gradually disappear in a easterly direction. The light eventually just gaded away. I thought that was a bit strange and was just about to go back inside when another light appeared followed the first light in exactly the same direction. I continued to watch the sky and more lights appeared one after the other all of them exactly the same and all going in the same direction. In total I counted 9 lights, some of them appeared alone and some were moving in twos. I cannot explain what these lights were and can't find any other reportings of this sighting either. I am intrigued as to what the explanation could be.

On Thursday 11th August this year I had just returned home from an evening out. Minutes after arriving, my best mate called who lives locally and sounded quite excited saying there were orange lights in the sky so, still on the phone, I leaned out of my kitchen window to see several orange lights coming from the south over Ilkley Moor. Even weirder, they vanished directly over head, one after the other. Since then I know of a few other people who saw them, one suggested chinese lanterns, but I'm doubtful because of the way they moved. There were about eight or nine altogether!

On Saturday 13th September 2008 at approx 8.45pm myself and a group of friends were sitting outside in the garden when we noticed an orange glow in the sky. Firstly we thought it was something on fire. It was travelling too fast to be an aeroplane or helicopter and it was too large. As it passed over us it looked flat but had a downward cone shape on the bottom. It was so clear that I was waiting for it to be reported on the news or something, that's why I have been looking at all sorts of web ites to see if anything was reported. As there were 8 of us that all saw the same thing, there must be someone else in the Neath area that saw it as it was quite early in the night!

I have seen about 30 orange balls of fire in the sky over south London, flying silently and very slowly horizontally from west to east. I have never seen anything like this before, they weren't helicopters or planes and thet did not look like shooting stars either. Could anyone let me know what those where please? A couple of years ago I walked out of my house to deliver some newspapers. It was a bright clear day and as I was walking down my street something in the air was shining and it caught my eye. When I looked up there was a silver/metal sphere shape hovering about 200 metres above the ground. I could see this object clearly. It made small movements up and down, and was not as big as other UFOs I have read in other stories. The object was completely round, and bigger than any balloon I've ever seen before. On the outside of this object, there was a smaller shape that seemed to glide and manoeuvre just outside the sphere in random directions, and it seemed to give off some kind of pulsing light. As I watched this object for some time, the smaller moving object shot off and faded out a couple of seconds later. Then the larger sphere shape seemed to fade out also but in the same position it was in.

On 1st September, me and around 9 friends saw something really strange in the sky, looking out from Hawarden, we were watching over Garden City. We noticed that there were around what we thought were 20 stars flickering, after about 5 minutes, there were around 15 maybe more "planes" in the sky all around us, but they didn't move like a plane would, they would move up, then down, for a few minutes, then they disappeared. I've never seen anything like this before.

My husband, myself, my son and his wife, have just experienced a very scary intriguing sight. We were sitting outside having a BBQ around 9.30pm. It had been a lovely warm balmy evening and we were looking at the Plough. Then out of nowhere, at least 7 orange glows, diagonal shaped, floated silently over us, one after the other. We took video footage of some of these, as we have scaffolding up around our house. My son climbed the scaffolding and took some amazing pictures. These glows were silent. Shortly after the lights had ceased, we saw a very strange, what appeared to be, a plane with extremely bright white lights. As I said, we all saw these, my son has sighted one before several nights ago. He was just telling us about it, when these 7 glows appeared over a space of around 10 minutes. We cannot think what they might be, and wondered if you might have knowledge of what these mysterious lights might be.

I love watching the stars through my telescope. I, along with my friends, went up on the terrace with my telescope to have a closer look at Mars. It was dark at around 8pm [Aug 27] and there was no moon that night. While we were watching, we suddenly saw something shoot in the sky, like a comet, it had a sort of blinking orange light. We all thought it was a shooting star at first. But then it vanished behind a building. A few minutes later it emerged at breakneck speed and halted right above the opposite side of our building. The light however seemed to be moving from right to left, up and down like sort of hovering. It was there for about 30 minutes. We called our friend's mom. We also saw it but said that it could have been a light or reflection. But we were all convinced that what we saw was not from the building but from the sky. We saw through the binoculars and it seems like it had a orange tail and twinkling lights in a row.

On August 23 in Derbyshire it was about 9.15 and my parents and I were watching TV. My mum went outside to shut the garage. She then started shouting me and telling me to come quick to our back door. As I looked outside they were about 8-14 orange lights floating across the sky. I quickly shouted my dad telling him about the lights he did not belive me until he looked outside the window as another set of orange lights went past. We all watched outside the front door at these weird lights. After a while they disappeared out of sight. Other people saw them too and when one person tried to takw a photo the lights would not show up on the image.

My car was stalled by a UFO and the sighting investigated by scientists from British Aerospace at Woodford aerodrome near Stockport, a report by them was written for Bufora. I was driving my car on a country lane at Higher Chisworth, near Glossop, Derbyshire, it was dark, two bright gold objects shot over the hills at great speed. When they passed over my car it stopped dead and the lights went out. After a couple of seconds the lights came back on but my radio was dead. I was very shaken. The site was investigated by one of the scientists with measuring equipment who worked out that the time between me seeing the objects and them disappearing they were travelling at over 7,000mph. He took my radio to be examined and told me it had been damaged my a powerful magnetic force. He also said this would have stopped my car. A night watchman at a mill in Oldham also saw the objects. He was having a cig at the back of the mill when the objects flashed over. It caused the chaff on the cut cornfield at the rear of the mill to shoot several hundred feet in the air. Oldham is about 6 miles from Glossop and he saw them a few seconds after my sighting. His sighting is in a few crop circle books. All this happened in 1967.

Driving home to Torquay from Dartmoor in October, early '90s, my workmate and I noticed a light above trees on the other side of the valley as we got into Buckfast. I decided to use the lanes instead of the A roads to see what it was. Leaving Ashburton, going up Whistly hill, this orange ball of light comes down the slope and right over the road in front of me, my car stalled and we jumped out to watch this hard to focus on object glide across the football pitch without a sound and swerve around the contours of the hills and out of sight. We were stunned.

At about 10.30pm tonight (06/08/08) about 4 or 5 of us witnessed a strange almost like fire in the sky, it was huge it looked to be about the size of a dinner plate. It moved very fast across the sky and then just appeared to come to a standstill for about 3 or 4 mins, it was like a big flaming fire. Very strange.

Kelly Hare, we noticed a strange orange light in the sky on the same night as yourself. It was after midnight when my brother phoned me so I went outside and there in the sky was an orange glow about the size of a football floating in the sky above the houses. He phoned me back and told me he had seen it land...it was a home made paper balloon with burning paper under it, he has still got it...good try!

On the 3rd Aug just after midnight 8 of us noticed a bright orange ball floating across the sky it travelled at the same speed and hight until the light disappeared behind some houses! Reports the next morning were saying people in Scotland were letting off ballons with candles attached but this was no way the size of a candle below a balloon and if so could it have floated so far from Scotland? We were all very puzzled and excited about this weird strange orange floating ball in the sky. If anyone else saw this over the North Wales coast leave a comment and what you thought it could have been!

Early hours of Monday morning - around 2.00am. Heard a strange noise outside so we looked out the window, Gemma spotted something in the sky. I thought it was the moon but it was moving and wobbling. I grabbed my camera and took a picture and then it suddenly moved more rapidly. It turned different colours from red to white. We were watching for a couple of minutes and then it changed shape, as if turning on its side, and shot vertically up into the sky and disappeared. We put the pictures up on the computer, and as well as what we saw, there was a distinct shape of a typical UFO a few more chimneys down. We didn't see this from the naked eye. We researched shapeshifting UFOs and the one we'd seen came up and was only described as the 'Mothership'. Really, really creepy...but exciting!

On Saturday 27 July 2008 we were at my sister's house in Cwmbran. Around 21:30 my sister shouted to come into the garden quickly. In the sky moving fast and low towards the south east was what looked like a large bright ball of orange flame. I had a camcorder close by but was too shocked trying to work out what it was to film it. My nephew did film it with his phone when it was a fair distance away. It looked like a star at that distance. This was seen by 4 adults and 4 children. About 5 mins later a plane flying low and fast headed in the same direction.

25th July at 10.30pm. Three round balls of orange light (height of low flying aircraft). Spotted whilst driving, they were in a triangular formation then one dropped down and vanished. The other two disappeared within 2 minutes.

A lot of sky lanterns are set off in the area and they look amazing in the sky with flaming wicks lighting up the lantern. They last for a long time and can travel for miles before burning out. About 100 are set off at the Ffrith beach Hallowe'en party every year and it looks like the earth is being invaded. I think this could explain some of the u sightings. The lanterns can be bought on the internet.

Matt from Chepstow
Driving from Newport to Chepstow my girlfriend and I noticed about 30-40 orange glowing lights hovering in the night sky. We pulled over next to the Indian Empire and were glad to see we were not the only other people interested and confused by this. From our location, they appeared to be rising from Tintern Way. They were travelling slow and when they reached a certain height they vanished. After a few mins they slowly stop rising. ARMY training exercise?

I'm a total believer in UFOs and have indeed witnessed some strange objects several times in the past 20 yrs or so watching the night sky. Being a professional photographer though it amazes me that nobody has ever produced one sharp, day time image of a UFO. Once a camera is focused at infinity (far away) the image should be sharp providing its set up right and the person has it held steady. Now, taking into account that some people just cant take a photo but modern digital cameras do a lot of work for you, surely the odds are that at least one out of the all the images taken by many people should be sharp and of good quality...

I'm still in shock from last Wednesday about 11.30pm. I opened the back door to let my dog out. She ran out as usual, got to about 2 feet and ran back in. I turned to look at her wondering what was wrong, turned back facing the garden to close the door when I saw 2 balls of light hovering above the ground. One was above the other. They were going from left to right in a straight line. The line would be about 3 foot and the height from the ground was about 3 or 4 inches. They were a foot in front of me. I stared in awe then the one closest to the ground started to shake as if it noticed my presence. I screamed but not too loud and I dared not look at them again too scared. I closed the door as fast as I could. I didn't dare go out of my living room until next morning. What really makes me mad is I had a camcorder in the other room but didn't dare film it as I was too shocked and scared. I have reported it. As yet, I haven't heard off anyone regarding it. The balls were about the size of a tennis ball, they didn't glow red, they were a clear light inside. I couldn't make out what was inside. It had lines in it and it didn't look like it was solid like metal or anything like that. They were spinning slowly as they went back and forth. I have set my camcorder up hoping for them to come back. I'm very worried, I need to know. I wonder if they were spiritial or from another planet? Friend or foe, they didn't bother me and they could have - but why my doorstep?

I live in south Wales and Saturday night we were in the garden and we saw first one light then followed two beside each other followed by many more! 24 approx. our neighbour came out and saw it too.

Saturday 12th July 2008 about 10:50pm.
We stopped the car, it was a dark sky partially obscured by cloud. We saw at least 7 bright orange lights travelling at high speed. They followed the same flight path at slightly irregular intevals and faded away at the same point.

I saw 2 orange lights pass - with same features as you ppl have seen - in The Netherlands at 22.40 last night.

Dear Kim & Steve T. 28th June 2008 2215 we were in a garden to the SW of Chichester and it sounds like we have seen a similar thing to you. Pairs of bright orange lights floating from the south to north. They did burn out and vanish eventually. There were about 14. We thought perhaps something burning attached to helium balloons? Very unsettling!

Stuart - Aberystwyth, Ceredigion
At 23.30 approx [Friday] while driving on the A30 at Fenny Bridges Interchange heading east towards Honiton, my partner and I spotted strange orange globe like lights about 5 hovering to the immediate north of us alongside the carriageway at varying heights but the lowest was above cloud level (which was very low some 100 feet due to the poor weather) and they gradually increased in height. At first we thought it was aircraft approaching Exeter Airport but we were moving and they were not - plus there was no noise or flashing lights!? So we pulled over into a layby and switched off our engine and other than the odd car passing by it was silent and they were hanging in the cloud above us. Then they vanished - we couldn't decide if they had gone or just stopped glowing!? In all the experience took about 10 minutes from first sighting them to when they vanished and we both have no explanation for what they were! Does anyone else? and did anyone else see them - we saw an AA patrol man pull over and shine his torch up at them which is what brought them to our attention originally.

Me and my partner saw a bright light in the sky. We ran out into the garden to see what we can only describe as a transparent object with orange flame in the centre. It was travelling silently, below the clouds in a straight line.

Anyone else see the orange light streaking across the sky during the Ladies' Midnight Walk [10 mile] around Wrexham on Saturday? Amazing and probably a meteor...

On the 31st of May 2008 there was a group of us sitting in the garden when we saw three bright lights in the sky. To begin with we though it was a plane, but as they stayed in the sky, we became to doubt that. It was rather scary, as the lights seemed to draw closer towards the ground. After some time they disappeared. Seemed very strange and unusual!

I couldn't believe my eyes last night. I was just looking up into the night sky when I saw these white blobs. I thought it was just my imagination. They seemed to become more unusual as they began to lower below the few drifting clouds I could see they were actually quite weird as they were heading directly to the ground, they stopped and all I could hear was this strange high pitched sound. It wasn't very loud and I could also see a pulsing multi coloured light on the side. Don't know what it was but certainly wasn't what I have ever seen before. As soon as I saw this it was gone, fading into the starlight.

Back in 1988 I was going to work on the night shift. I was driving nr Preston, Lancs, I was on a dual carrageway. I was the only car on the road when I saw a very large ufo. It was moving across the road just over the tree tops. I could see lights inside the object - a person or whatever it was - looking down through the window of the craft. It was so large it covered the whole dual carrageway. I drove under the UFO. I could see lots of lights all different colours. It just floated away over the trees. I was so amazed I couldn't believe what I was seeing.

Kim from Bosham near Chichester. Kim, I live in Portsmouth and saw the saw thing as you. I took some pics. I also used my binoculars. I think they were paper lanterns. Someone was having a party locally and they released them into the night sky. I counted about 9-11 of them and they were orange.

Gary from Royton in Oldham
On Friday 20th June 2008 at approx 10.30pm while having a bbq with family. My son came out and told us to look up at the sky. The 4 of us and my son and his friend and nephew saw 2 bright orange round shaped lights which stayed for approx 3 mins in the same location, then 1 of them seemed to just disappear and the other lingered getting fainter then disappeared completely. We are not night gazers looking for unusual objects but have just recently bought a telescope which at the time we were setting it up in the garden. It's just a shame we did not view it through our telescope. An aeroplane flew by as these orange glows were in the sky. Would be interesting to see if any one else in Royton Oldham saw the same thing.

It was about 12 years ago now. My best mate and his brother and my two brothers were all playing football in my back garden in the dark with a really bright torch. It was about 9pm, my elder brother started shining and flashing the torch into the sky at the stars. We carried on playing football and about 15 minutes later my brother shouts 'UFO' and points into the sky. About 25 metres above our garden was a circular object with different coloured lights around the edge, hovering not making a noise, then a second later it shot across the sky and disappeared behind a hill about a mile away. It took less than a second to travel that distance. We all ran inside completely freaked out. There is definitely something out there and, before long, everyone will know it.

Carl if you've seen one, you know they aren't planes. When I was 12 I was sitting in my backyard and out of nowhere a huge triangle, two lights in back one in front, flew directly over my head. It was silent and it moved so fast I only saw it for a second or two. It looked like it was headed straight for the ground, but, like I said, as soon as I saw the thing, it was gone. Never seen anything before or since. I know what I saw. The same triangle that has been reported all over the world. Seeing is believing. Now what would be the reason for me to write this if it was just a lie?

Just coming in from the car at about 21.50 and stood and watched 5 orange lights moving across the sky. They came from low down and travelled up towards the clouds. There were some hills between them and the horizon so they must have come from the ground. They moved at similar speeds, steadily and in the same direction. Goodwood and Gatwick aren't too far away so I'm used to seeing planes, but these weren't planes. No flashing lights, just continual glowing until they were out of sight. I ran in to get my binoculars, but still couldn't make anything out apart from orange lights. WHAT IS GOING ON OUT THERE?

My dad saw a large orange orb over Steep Holme during a storm. I saw a giant craft silently glide over the M4 whilst waiting for a lift. It was bigger than an aircraft carrier, much bigger.

10 May 2008, 1-2AM, we stood in our friend's garden in Hoole, Chester, and noticed a bright orange glow which moved slowly then stopped, only to disappear and then re-appear. This sighting lasted for up to 15 minutes and was witnessed by 5 people. Planes don't behave in that way and neither do 'copters. I'm not one of those people who ever believes in anything like this but if you can't work out what it was then it was a UFO. Unless somebody knows what was in the area on the 29th April 2008 above Chester.

I have seen pretty much exactly the same as Olli from Exeter. It was roughly about 10:45 pm. I was on my way into Guildford and saw all these orange orb like objects moving slowly across the sky in one long line, and also when they reached the same point they started to disappear. The only difference is there were at LEAST 20 of these things. Anyone got any ideas as I am absolutely gob smacked right now.

I saw orange light low (much higher than the street lights, but lower than an aircraft) in the sky 30/5/08 - seemed to be hovering over the John Hastie Park about midnight for the second time. 1st time I was with my friend, Anne, we both saw it at the same time. We were in the car and tried to follow it, but lost it as it went in the direction of Stonehouse/Sandford at speed. When we told other friends about this, they had also seen it. In fact, they had seen 3 lights all together - same sort of area, in January 08.

Dan from Oswestry
About 1998, me and a friend were walking near old Oswestry (hill fort) at night when we saw a HUGE (2 football fields)kite-shape of lights about 200 foot above our heads just hovering silently...it was sending out what looked like a lazer down into some fields about a mile ahead which would go out then reappear in a spot 20-odd feet away from original spot. At least one stranger was watching on their doorstep, when it just disappeared. Minutes later me and my friend were CONVINCED that a nearby house was on fire with smoke pouring out of it, to the point of runnng there to help, but the house was completely unaffected.

Re note from Ollie, Exeter. My family and I were in our car on the A30 approx 9.30pm on 15/5/08 passing Exeter. We all saw 12/14 lights spaced apart and appeared stationary. We saw them for several minutes. Can anyone explain?

Tonight on my way home from a class I was riding my bike up the hill of Barley Mount Exwick when I saw in the sky above the fields about 12-14 orange objects in the sky - not believing my own eyes I quickly rushed home getting my g/friend, mum and dad and we all stood at the top of the field watching these strange orange lights. They were all moving slowly to the right and upwards into the sky. They all moved together almost like in a formation but were spread well apart. They all reached the same point and one by one disappeared - it was very weird!

On the 15th of May 2008 I was sitting in the playground when there was a buzzing noise and a perfect circle shadow flew over me and when I looked up there was nothing there and 2 years ago on the motorway my mum and dad were driving when a flying thing flew right over the car. We couldn't see it because it was too dark but my brothers and sisters could tell from the lights it was round and it was following us.

Fiona Paterson from Glasgow
On Saturday night, 10pm we were returning from Dunning, Perthshire heading back to Glasgow. It was a full moon and the sky was bright and clear. We saw what was like flashes close to the moon. The flashes were slightly bigger than the moon and whatever it was would flash on one side of the moon then suddenly it would appear further away on the other side of the moon. This went on for about 10 minutes, would stop for about 5 minutes and then came back. Then to top it all a flash of colour shot down the way from the sky like a rainbow but coming straight down. This happened twice still in the same area of the moon. Not sure what we were seeing. Would love to know if anyone else saw it. My daughter managed to capture some of it on her digital camera. It was amazing to watch. Never seen anything like it before.

Earlier this month, April 2008, I was standing outside in my back garden at around 9.30pm and was looking up at the stars thinking how lovely they were when suddenly I saw 2 (the only thing that I can describe them as is) STARS moving very slowly, I would say from one side of my house to the other side then suddenly stopped as if to mingle in with the other stars. Now that's strange...

I used to travel to Warrington everyday along the A55. My shift pattern meant I had to start very early some mornings. Early one morning about 5.15 it was just coming light and was cloudy and dull. Whilst nearing the filling station at Boddelwydden I saw what looked like flaming wreckage fall through the cloud base, there was streaming orange flames and black smoke spiralling earthwards. It quickly went from view into or behind the forestry near St George. I was running late and carried on to work. I expected to hear about a plane crash in the news, radio, tv, papers etc. NO SUCH REPORT. This occurred about Summer 2000. I never said anything to anybody as I thought they'd think me mad! I'm now coming clean! I know it was NOT imagination.

Two factory workers witnessed a strange orange light in the sky. We both watched it pass overhead silently. Within 10 minutes of the first sighting, it reappeared from another direction, this time in an erratic stop start sort of way. We both watched it until it had gone out of view over the Berwyn mountains. It was a dark orange in colour, with an aura or hazy ring around it.

It was about 1992. I was in Lancaster, Penn, USA. My church group and I went to an Amish farm. I was about 13 yrs. We stayed the whole day with the Amish family. It was night time when our bus was leaving. There were no lamp post on the dirt road, so it was very dark. Everyone in the bus was either talking or falling asleep. I was looking at the stars in the sky, the sky was beautiful. Then suddenly I noticed that a pan shaped white light was following my bus. It came out of nowhere. It was high in the sky but noticable. It zigg zagged back and forth with ease. At first when the UFO followed the bus I thought it was some sort of plane but the way it moved and the quickness of it made my mouth drop open. When the bus came to the main road the UFO stop went backward and then came back. It just stopped in mid air. The bus was driving off, then the UFO vanished. I nearly wet my pants, I was sooo scared. I've never seen the object again. Wow...

This was in October/November 2007, I was in Sowtown industrial estate and was leaving work in the dark with a few other collegues. Suddenly as we left the building the floodlights in the car park died. The only thing we could see in the sky was a strange light, not like a helicopter or plane, the way this light was pulsing was really odd, it just had the one singular bright pulsing light, no noise! Driving through exeter most of the lights were out in houses and even traffic lights. Once home several strange lights were seen in the sky later that evening and the eclectricity in the area once restored kept blinking out from time to time.
