Rash of sightings

Witness drawing of Prestatyn UFO

Last updated: 21 July 2007

UFO investigator Margaret Fry recorded a busy period with several sightings in two communities within a four-week period, including one craft which did "loop the loops".

December 28 1985, 0030 hours
An object was seen shooting across the sky at great speed from the Meliden Quarry area and Dyserth Crossroad to Meliden village. Two witnesses - returning from their evening work - were driving along the A547 at about 60mph and say they were able to follow the craft - at distance. After some miles the object stopped, hovered and lowered itself to land at The Meadows, just of the A547. So amazed, the witnesses stopped the car and went to the scene to take a better look - but they could see nothing in the darkness.

January 4 1986, 2030 hours
A huge red rugby ball-like object was seen hanging above two Scots pines by a farmer on the outskirts of Dyserth, near Rhyl as she was mucking out cow sheds. She watched as the object, which was not too far away, shrank in size - rather than apparently moving away into the distance - until it disappeared.

January 22 1986, 2100 hours
- Neighbours drew a picture of the craft they saw (seen top) which appeared to look like three saucer-like crafts fitted together when it hovered over houses in a suburban street in Prestatyn. At its centre was a red V like area which glowed red and was clearly visible as it passed over the family. They reported that after it continued over the rooftops following the direction of the road, it headed towards Meliden Hills into the distance, producing a "fantastic" display of loop the loops.

January 26 1986, 2020 hours
A taxi driver was travelling along Kelsterton Lane, Connah's Quay, when an object like a "tall Welsh hat" with long lighted windows, the size of four saloon cars in length, passed less than 100ft over his car. Five minutes later, another taxi driver on nearby High Street, Connah's Quay, saw the identical object.

I have always belived in the existence of alien existence. After all there are countless stars and countless have planets. A planet has already been seen by the Hubble space telescope to be a similar temprature to ours. However the idea that a civilisation would invent faster than light technology and decide to visit us seemed a bit far fetched to me. This was until about 5 years ago I looked out of my bedroom window and saw a strange orange light stationary in the distance. Thinking it was the planet Venus I took out some binoculars I got from a R.A.F. friend. The orange light was actually 3 lights in a triangular pattern on the points of a black craft. It remained stationary for about 15 minutes when I noticed 2 RAF tornado jets flying overhead. They were heading presumably in the direction of Cosford however as they got nearer they turned on an intercept course for the UFO. The UFO imediatly accelerated and performed a series of erratic manoeuvres then shot off at incredible speed. I have studied aircraft recognition with the air cadets and I can tell you there is no craft on this planet that looks or performs like the craft I saw. For whatever reason we are under observation by another civilisation, period.
