I wanted to recount an experience myself and my family had last year when we were on holiday in Rhyl.
We were heading back to our caravan that we had rented for the week. We were walking down the path which by now was getting dark. On one side there were caravans, a path, then a wall and rocks, then below was the beach. We were walking on the path in the middle.
It was a cold evening and there weren't many people staying on the site as it was just before the season started. I was freezing and I had even put a small coat onto my dog, it was so cold we could see our breath.
As we walked along the path myself and Ben, my dog, walked on the wall until it got so dark I could hardly see where I was going and I returned to the path and even put my dog on the lead so I wouldn't lose him. The path is a long stretch. It was creepy, there were only one or two lights on in caravans, most were empty.
We were beginning to think we were the only ones about when we saw two young girls about eight or nine years old. I remember my dad saying that they must be freezing as they were wearing what looked like knickers or swim trunks, no shoes or socks, and one of them was wearing a long brown coat that looked like it was fur.
Ben watched the girls as we passed, even tried to get between me and the wall as we walked past. He seemed scared and tense. The girls didn't seem to notice us, they didn't look up and most kids run up to say 'hi' to Ben but they just continued climbing on the rocks.
By now I couldn't see much in front of me so how they could see I didn't know. Our caravan was just a little further from where they were playing. We went inside, my parents made a hot drink but something about the two girls fascinated me. I sat watching them playing. They didn't seem to notice me. I watched them play as it began to pour down with rain, their silhouettes barely visible in the dim streetlights lighting the path. The rain pelted the windows and it made me shiver to see the girls still out in it, one still wearing nothing but knickers/swimming trunks.
My mum brought over a cup of tea, I turned for half a second and when I looked back they were gone. Was it possible they could have gone into a caravan in the second I turned away? Could they have climbed barefoot from wet, slippery rocks onto the wall then down and out of sight in the time it takes to take a cup and turn around? Were they really two children out in the cold wet night, hardly dressed, with no footwear? Where were their parents or were they ghosts? Has anyone seen anything similar or heard any ghost stories?
I know it freaked us out and we felt a definite chill when we passed them - was it just the fact it was so cold and they would be freezing or was something else causing the chill? We don't know and we may never find out but one thing is for certain - I will never be seen walking alone on Rhyl beach when it's beginning to go dark.

I love all these stories. I am going to Rhyl soon and will visit the places along the coast mentioned. I have made notes of the stories and I will write again with my stories if I get any.

Of course they are ghosts, who would be outside in the rain with swimming trunks and knickers!

I live on the seafront on the east side of Rhyl. I was looking out of my window one morning and I saw the sand lift from the beach and form a figure it stayed for a few seconds and it vanished. It was a still morning with no wind. I was very shocked and frightened.

I feel really stupid telling this tale, but here goes.I was staying at the Sunnyvale camp in the mid 1970s with my gran and auntie. Whilst playing outside one of our chalets, I heared a ringing sound that sounded like a church bell. I looked to where the sound was coming from, it was in the sky. Me and another kid both saw a flying bell, it sounds unbelievable, but I swear to this day it's what we saw. We both ran back to our chalets terrified. I wouldn't play out for days, of course, nobody believed me. I never saw the other kid again so he couldn't back up my story. What I saw still plays on my mind today. It's a long shot, but if anybody else knows anything about this please drop a line.

I am a resident of Kinmel Bay and walk my dogs on the beach every evening at dusk. I often see strange things but on closer inspection it is usually large drift wood etc, however this may be of interest to you, I was walking my dogs and saw SOMETHING ahead which looked like two young children. The light was very poor and the figures did not appear to be moving so I assumed they were probably drift wood, however as I got closer I could hear children's voices and eventually saw the children themselves. I was now thinking it was dark and late for two young children to be alone on the beach. As I got closer I turned to call my dogs so as not to worry the youngsters but on turning round they had totally vanished. The hair on my neck stood up and I made a sharp exit, looking at all times hoping to see the children. It was only when I got off the beach onto the path and strained my eyes to where I had been that I saw the figures of the chidren exactly where they had disappeared, trust me I was spooked.

I think might have just been the catch of the eye! Maybe they just left! Evidently you can't really see anything in a strong wind or dark night! But it is spooky!

The old house on the beach at Kinmel Bay was lived in by an old lady known locally as old ma Sykes. she lived alone as far as I can remember. After her passing it remained empty for some while but was then turned into a hostel for kids. This did not last long and since then has remained empty.

I grew up in Rhyl, and lived on Ffynnongreow Rd in a very haunted house, figures were seen by us all usually a man or a child the child looking at you as you lay in bed and the man usually in the hallway {shudder} just remembering. There was also a reputed haunted stable block behind the old YMCA with a blocked off room, I think it's still there.

The two girls who are on the beach, my nan knows who these girls are. Apparently my nan told me that they have been there for years and they used to live around the corner from her and they both died at the age of ten and twelve through drowning in the sea and the mum committed sucicide due to her daughters' deaths.

The Parsons Lane Ghost. Marsh Road in Rhyl used to be called Parsons Lane. Rumour was that a vicar was murdered by red letter box. It feels cold when you approach the spot slowly, you feel all the hairs on your body stand on end. I was walking my dog one evening and as we got towards the post box my dog stopped and would not got any further. I had to cross the road and I have done so to this day.

I was reading all the stories with my younger sister as we were planning a day out to Rhyl but now she is scared of going but I still want to go but at night I have never seen a ghost in my life and would like to experience a sighting. People have told me it's scary and I wouldn't like it and other people have told me that ghosts only show themselves to people they want to see them and it's usually to give messages or a warning.

I have been going to Sunnyvale Caravan Park for 17 years. Years ago there used to be a block of old outdoor toilets. I assumed this would be for the Tourer caravans which were allowed on the site at this time. Anyway I was only about 8 years old. Me and my cousin, aged 16, went in to use the facilities. I was the first to go to the toilet and my cousin waited outside. Out of nowhere came a flush, which me and my cousin weren't responsible for. We laughed thinking that someone else was in the toilets and we had just been acting like idiots. Then I came out, washed my hands and my cousin went to use the toilet. After she finished when coming out of the cubicle all the toilets in the cubicle flushed at the same time. Really weird!

I saw the same thing as Sian Barrett. I was walking home from town last summer with my son. It was the hottest day. On Wellington Road, crossing from the corner chippy across from the chippy, no one was walking down. As we crossed the road a man dressed in an old fashioned suit, like in Frank Sinatra days was walking towards us. As he walked passed he just looked at us. We both knew he was odd, the way he was dressed and it was too hot for a suit. He had creamish trousers, a blue blazer jacker, bow tie, and straw hat, with a bow round it. We watched him walk down and disappear. Freaky.

I was in my street at about 10pm with my mates and it was quiet. We could hear strange noises like people whistling and making big bangs and it was getting closer. So I checked to see if anyone was at their window trying to scare us but no one was there and it carried on so we ran into my mate's house scared because no one was to be seen.

Last summer I was walking along Wellington Road in Rhyl with my mum and it was a hot day. And a strange man dressed in winter clothes but the clothes looked like the 70s and I thought how could you dress like that when it's a hot day. So we carried on walking and he went straight past us looking at the ground so when we looked behind us his foot disappeared in the grid and vanished, we were shocked I knew something wasn't quite right.
