Army of ghosts
Last updated: 11 February 2008
Imagine being confronted by a 3,000-strong army of 17th century dead soldiers walking by.
Most frustrating is that although it was supposedly witnessed by half a dozen people, it took place in the 17th century and details are sketchy. All that is known is that the army marched through Nant-y-Ffrith, a wooded valley at Bwlchgwyn.
Local ghost story researcher Richard Holland, of Mold, says there are no explanations for the phantoms, no historical data to suggest an army had ever marched through the area, and yet the sight was witnessed for some time by several people.
The record was made by historian Robert Parry who said the spectacle was witnessed in September 1602.
Other phenomena include the amount of Grey Ladies who are said to walk the region's ruins, highways and even housing estates.

Have you heard about the ghosts that walk the old Kinmel Park Camp, Bodelwyddan? It is the old 1919 Canadian Mutineers.

I have been to Nant-y-Ffrith lots of times and I have never seen a ghost but it would be so cool if there were ghosts in Nant-y-Ffrith.

I saw a young man hitting a golden goat in the mist, it completely scared my mother, she ran screaming. I was rather dazed. Very spooky
