Ghost hunters from Cheshire Paranormal Society (CPS) took this photo during an investigation on the historic Packhorse Bridge in the village of Caergwrle, near Wrexham, the scene of a number of sightings. Does it show a ghost?
This ghostly figure is standing on the Packhorse Bridge, Caergwrle, near Wrexham, according to Cheshire Paranormal Society chairman John Millington. At the time members hadn't realised what was apparently standing on the bridge in front of them, but some group members had reported feeling uneasy and other paranormal activity was also recorded, such as so-called orbs of light. Through further study and assistance from members of Hope and Caergwrle Heritage Society, it's thought three ghosts haunt the bridge; a young girl and two women.
Members believe this photo shows the ghost of Squire Yonge who, the history books say, was well known in the area 300 years ago. The group also believe that the sighting of ghosts on the bridge could be to do with a former burial ground in the area and that the bridge was the access point.

Looking at the photo the ghost is standing exactly in the middle, which means if the lamppost could have moisturiser on but would turn it orange. It is definitely a ghost. A ghost would not have a cloak on, but the grey lady ghost of Whitby would. I went to Carlton, and when we came back from the activities there were grey hairs on our bed.

I went to the Pack Horse Bridge not so long ago with a paranormal group that I am working with and I picked up an EVP of a woman saying "I used to come here, but now I'm not so sure".

Graham is wrong in so many ways. If the street lamp was reflecting the moisture it would be orange, the same colour as the lamp. A flash was used here which is what is lighting up the forground, that's why the orbs are showing up and the figure is of the same light contrast thus indicating that it is close to the camera, thinking in 2D in my opinion it's a falling snow flake or possibly rain drop.

I believe this is an actual ghost. It's one of those rare photos, blurry, but definitely an apparition standing there. Not too sure what the other bright round object of the same colour as the apparition is. I believe it's a mystery. As for myself, I can't wait to buy a good camera and start investigating spooky places here in New Zealand.

Moisture on the lens is a good explanation BUT in the exact spot where the bridge is? And in such perfect form to look like a figure? I'm not convinced either way!

That Graham has a good point as it is a common occurrence. The only problem is that if you look, this picture shows distance, ratio and a figure. You can see an old brimmed hat, cloak, leg, head and a sort of shading on that cloak. Also, the figure is in a perfect place to be on it. The orb...well I am not so convinced about it as energy orbs from a spirit are never that "perfect" in shape.

Me, my mum and boyfriend went to that bridge 3 times after looking at this site. It was not until the 3rd time something strange happened there. My boyfriend has taken pictures of every angle on the bridge, and then what he experienced was his back getting cold and his face felt like it was tightening up in one place. At this point I was panicking because he was getting dizzy, so I grabbed him and walked away from that place. Just as I walked forward one side of my body went cold, my mum got extremely cold in the face so we all hurried to get off the bridge and that's when we realised it wasn't cold any more. We haven't been there since.

I work with photographs for a living (colour and retouching etc). I am also a photographer. I looked at this image in photoshop. I would say it is nothing other than moisture on the lens being illuminated by the street light behind. The supposed orb on the left is the same. Out of all the millions of images which are taken every year, you are bound to get at least one photo where the moisture looks like a figure or ghost. This is baloney, I have had similar photos where moisture gets illuminated on the lens. In fact a lot of images I have seen of supposed sightings share this anomoly. The only thing special about this is the moisture looks like what appears to be a figure.

Oh my lord! I've walked across that bridge hundreds of times after 9pm and I saw a green mist glowing. I thought I was going mad but this shows that I'm not going mad.

That is ever so freaky. But I don't know if it is true. It would be great if it were.

I think this looks genuine, the spot to the left of the image is probably an energy orb of another spirit. Good hunting with this photo. I have studied the occult over 30 years and am not easily impressed, most ghost photos are bogus or misinterpretations.

Good photograph. Are there also orbs present?

I think that it could be someone having a laugh by frightening people that get scared quickly. Besideseven if it is a ghost it's happy and there is nothing to be scared of even if it's harmless.

They are real. I've been as close as a meter away from oneI felt sick and very cold. I nearly fainted. It was the scariest thing I've ever experienced. I never want to see 1 again and my fingertips were so cold it felt like they fell off.

The way I see it is that if it is a ghost, everybody should just leave it in peace. It is obviously hanging around for some reason, which we will probley never know about, they are still here to finish unfinished business, so let them do it, then they can get closure and pass over. They are not harmful ghosts, if they were they would have hurt somebody by now. Just leave the folks to roam around in peace!

My mum's boyfriend owns the Derby Arms (the pub that is right next to the bridge) and I have walked across that bridge several times and not once felt anything paranormal. Lots of people have claimed to have had paranormal experiences in the village and even the pub.

We live in this village. We live in Bryn Yorkin Manor and have had experts in to inspect for paranormal activity. There have been no clear signs, only speculation at a suspected 'presence', though nothing out of the ordinary has occurred for us. Although recently, when driving towards Mold past Plas Teg around about midnight I strongly believe that I saw a figure drift from left to right across the road and back in the same direction. I was, at this point approximately 100 yards away yet I saw it clearly as forming the distinct shape of a man around 6 foot tall wearing what can only be described as a top hat. Most sightings seem to have occurred around sunset and I've always hoped to see something yet to no avail. This was a genuine shock yet quite a welcome one. Any feedback?

I have lived in the village for years and as a young lad in the local area I have camped out in the Derbi Pub back garden many times in the presence of its previous owner and I have to say I have never experienced anything out of the ordinary down there. In my opinion if I ain't seen it, it ain't there.

I believe in ghosts 'cause I've seen 'em. If you ever see one in person, you won't want to again. Whether or not this photo is genuine, it's true that technology will enable someone to tamper with the picture, but, then again, there are also technological experts who can examine the photo and tell if it's a fake. Have you ever watched ghost adventurers? See it.

Honestly, I think this "ghost" is just part of the picture taken before this one. It looks like a ghost but there is just no simple explanation

If you look to the left of the spectre you can see a white spot exactly the same colour as the 'ghost'. I think the lens was dirty or something although I do believe in ghosts.
