This was published in Antwerp in 1573 by the Dutch geographer Abraham Ortelius with whom Llwyd was closely associated. The map proved to be very popular and was reprinted many times. Llwyd died in 1568 and is buried at Whitchurch, near Denbigh. There is a monument to him in St Marcella's church. His motto was 'Hwy pery klod na golyd' ('Fame lasts longer than wealth').
