Tammika

Tammika biography

Versatile pop performer from South East Wales.

Born in Church Village in South Wales, Tammika's ambition from her days in the school choir was to be a singer. She spent her teenage years in Aberporth and Bridgend practising and performing, and in 1999 she started out as a solo performer.

She steadily built up a fanbase over the years, and eventually landed a deal with Silverwood Music after producer Kevin King heard her perform and was impressed.

The result was Tammika's self-titled album, released in August 2005 on Optimum Records. A blend of pop, ballads, salsa and jazz, it was a self-assured debut album which she dedicated to her late father.

Jemma Smith, Cardiff
Tammi was my first dancing teacher when I started salsa. I learned so much from her classes, and she is a fantastic dancer. I haven't heard her sing as yet, but if she sings as well as she dances then she will go far in life. Keep it up chick, I think you're great xx

Rasheeda Ali from Bridgend
I've been having dance sessions with Tammy for nearly a year now and i must admit it's been brilliant! Tammy came to my school (Archbishop McGrath RC School) to talk to us about her career - she's so accomplished! Tammy's a bubbly teacher with a great attitude. I always come home smiling! :)

David Kirk from Little Rock, Arkansas, US
I have always loved Welsh voices from my time in England in the early '60s. I have always thought of Wales as The land of song, and Tammika's voice stands out from all the rest. When I listen to her sing it is like listening with my soul. Her music becomes part of me and I can't help but sinf along.

Carol Evans from Cardiff
Having seen Tammika several times now and also having bought her album, I have to say she is a young lady of great talent, and always sociable and willing to spend time talking to her many fans. Her album was a treat to listen to from a young singer from South Wales and I wish her all the best for her future. I will be at future shows in my area for sure.

Tommy from bridgend
Tammi is really beautiful! and quite modest, i only met her once really but she wasnt at all arrogant - and she's a great dancer and teacher.
