People In Planes

People In Planes

People In Planes met at an Owen Money gig in Porthcawl. But despite such inauspicious beginnings they managed to quickly garner a reputation as a storming live act with a knack for melody.

It's alternative rock, in a broad sense, but there's a lot of attention to detail with atmospheric sounds and things, but they're just all the icing on the cake. It's guitars, keyboards, bass and drums.

Originally called Tetra Splendour, the band signed to EMI imprint Wishakismo. They landed a high profile support slot touring with Fun Lovin' Criminals, and released an album, Mr Bishi, and three singles.

However, EMI "decided they weren't in it for the long haul," and parted company with the band. Undeterred, they regrouped, changed their name to People In Planes, recruited keyboard player Ian Russell, and worked on their sound.
