Ellie Goulding is a female singer-songwriter tipped for chart stardom.

Ellie Goulding of Knighton in Powys is a female singer-songwrier who's primed for the limelight after signing a deal with the Polydor record label and appearing on Later... With Jools Holland.
Her debut single, Under The Sheets, is out on 16 November 2009 and has already been Record of the Week on Radio 1.
She's been working with renowned songwriter and producer Mark Ronson. Speaking to WalesOnline about her appearance on Later... she said, "It's been an amazing reaction but obviously it was like going in at the deep end."
"Being compared to other female artists isn't really annoying; it's just kind of silly. The weirdest one is Cerys Matthews.
"I know why I was compared to her though, it's because I'm from Wales and they were like, 'who can we find that's from Wales to compare to Ellie Goulding and slightly alternative? Not Tom Jones. Duffy? No, I know - Cerys Matthews and that band Catatonia. Perfect.'"
Comparisons might be erroneous almost by definition, but her music puts her firmly in the pop camp. Pop, albeit with a slightly skiwiff edge. It's a recipe that looks to be putting her on the path to chart potential.
