Getting Started
Welcome to the wonderful world of coasteering! As an emerging sport it encompasses a range of activities pulling together climbing, swiming, body surfing and cliff diving.
The basic premise involves cliffs, deep ocean water jumps and people clad in wetsuits, trainers and helmets scrambling around cliffs, having the time of their lives!
Pembrokeshire based adventure specialists TYF describe it as "Exciting, energetic, sometimes scary and never to be forgotten.
Scrambling over rocks, jumping from cliffs, swimming in the sea, washed by waves...this is Coasteering®. An outdoor adventure pursuit that can push your adrenalin levels or simply unwind you."
"This is a coastal adventure for everyone. From extreme rock-pooling to high adrenalin sea-survival, you can take part in coasteering at a level that will leave you buzzing."
If you're going to participate in this sort of activity then we recommend you use a proper outdoors pursuit company from our web guide, that is used to dealing with this kind of sport and has the necessary safety precautions, insurance and equipment to make your day safe and enjoyable!

"Depending on the weather and water conditions, your Guide will choose a route that provides a surprise at every corner: a low level rock traverse above deep water, a low tide cave to explore, a jumping spot."
"You'll also take time out to look at some of the local marine wild life so that you'll know why the humble barnacle makes some blush or the important difference between green and brown seaweeds."
Most coasteering is down around Gower, Pembrokeshire and Llyn Peninsula where the cliffs and clear seas make for a spectacular back drop.
