Aberystwyth
http://www.aberystwythguide.org.uk/
An unofficial site giving loads of info about Aberystwyth - including a detailed history timeline going back to 500BC. You can also check out how well you know the town's architecture in the Aber Bits section which, as the name implies, has photos of interesting bits of buildings. The site also includes a list of accommodation, restaurants and shops as well as clubs and societies. Written by a former Aber student, the site also has quite a lively message board with topics ranging from house prices to the Christmas lights ceremony. More Aberystwyth websites...
Aberaeron
http://www.aberaeron.co.uk
Billed as Aberaeron's official website, these pages include quite a lot of interesting information about this pretty Georgian seaside town, much of which seems to have been written by local people. Don't rely on the site for day-to-day news - and the what's on section does not appear to be updated regularly - but there's still lots here about the history of Aberaeron as well as some pretty pictures and suggestions for walks around the town.
Comins Coch
http://www.comins-coch.org
Comins Coch is a small village just outside Aberystwyth and its website is run by the local Community Association. It has details of forthcoming events (prize bingo, duck race, carol singing etc) as well as a notice board and a links page. Suggested by Eric Heyes from Comins Coch
Goginan
http://www.goginan.com
This is a community website, describing itself as "a vehicle for the energy of Goginan". It includes a gallery of work by several local artists, some nice photos of the area and a tribute to a village bard. There's also info on the local pub. However, the events section didn't seem to be very up to date when we looked.
Lampeter
http://www.lampeter.org
Almost everything you ever wanted to know about Lampeter can be found on this website which offers a a wealth of information about town life. Details of clubs and societies are listed along with places to visit and sports facilities. There's also a diary of regular weekly events, a photo gallery of local scenes and a comprehensive history of the town, from the earliest settlers through to present day. The site is maintained by Menter Llambed - a partnership of public bodies y set up to provide a focus focus for comunity development. Suggested by David Willis from Lampeter
Llandysul
www.llandysul-ponttyweli.co.uk
A bilingual website for Llandysul and Pont Tyweli, with details of local events, accommodation, businesses, tourist attractions and other useful information. There's also a page on local history, including the role played by Llandysul men in Owain Glyndwr's rebellion.
Llanrhystud
www.llanrhystud.co.uk
A well-constructed and comprehensive website about the ancient village of Llanrhystud. It includes some fascinating information about the area's history and geneaology - gleaned from old parish and farm estate records - and the site's dotted with old photos of the village. There's also lots of info about Llanrhystud today - its beach, golf club, church and accommodation as well as profiles of nearby towns and villages. Suggested by Charles Green from Llanrhystud.
Tregaron
http://www.e-britain.co.uk/tregaron
Websites for the small town of Tregaron seem to be few and far between. This site is aimed mostly at visitors and gives a brief introduction to the area. There's also some information on accommodation and a list of the main annual events.
