Newtown Partnership Website
http://www.newtownwales.co.uk
Launched in March 2003, the Newtown Partnership website is a nice community site catering for both locals and visitors. We particularly liked the interactive map which allows you to zoom in on different areas of the town. Interesting buildings are highlighted and strange stories recounted in bilingual pop-up boxes (such as the tale of the landlord who was eaten by a herd of his own pigs). Users can vote on the local issue of the day - e.g. does the town need another supermarket?. There's also a five-page potted history of the town, a directory of local businesses and a calendar of events as well as info on things to do and places to stay in the area.
Newtown Weather
http://www.newtownweather.co.uk/
This website is dedicated to the weather in Newtown. Sections include current weather, archived weather, photos and historical weather in the area. The site will have weather related photos and videos and will have an extensive log of data. At least one webcam is intended for the site which will look over Newtown to the hills beyond to the south.

This is the official website for the Robins, Newtown's football team who play in the Welsh Premier. The content is obviously updated regularly and the message board seems to be very popular with local fans. You can get future fixtures here and the latest league stats, not to mention travel details to away games. The news section is a bit thin but there's plenty here to keep any Robin fan happy. The site also includes a photo gallery of the stages in building the Bethshan project and HRH Prince Charles' visit to the Bethshan Project, Newtown. This project enables older people to receive the nursing care that they require within their own community. Suggested by Brian T Hibbert from Llanfyllin.
Newtown Music Theatre Society

This is the website for the Newtown Music Theatre Society, a local performing company set up in 1979.
