Aberystwyth Arts Centre

As befits the main regional arts venue for Mid and West Wales and the largest arts centre in Wales, this website is comprehensive - detailing full listings of all the centre's shows and exhibitions. Details of exhibitions, along with all of the centre's other events, can be found on the website along with useful information on how to book tickets, details of courses and facilities available to the public and how to get your work selected for one of the centre's four exhibition spaces. Very handy links to local, national and internatonal arts-oriented websites.

An excellent site, easy to navigate and offering a wealth of information about the town, from past history to present day. As well as the usual information on local services and attractions, there's a quirky page called 'Town Life in Photos' which includes snaps of what's going on or changing in Aberystwyth - for example, the closure of a local chip shop and a display of sugar cubes in the main street. The site also has a comprehensive collection of town galleries and links to other local websites.

Ceredigion Coast Path

The Ceredigion Coast Path follows a 60 miles / 96 km route between the Teifi and Dyfi estuaries. This informative and interesting website provides all the information you need if you want to walk the whole path or one of the seven different sections. It also provides more information about the geology and history of Ceredigion.

Living Willow Theatre

The Living Willow Theatre is a community venture and is planted of Living Willow, with a wet weather alternative in the barn. It is powered entirely with renewable energy. It offers a range of community and professional touring productions, workshops and arts festivals with their season running from April - September. There are links on this site to groups based in Gwynedd and Colwyn Bay for amateur astronomers in Mid Wales, but local stargazers have not built their own sites so far.

National Federation of Womens Institutes

Community projects, culture and computing are among the diverse range of interests covered by Women's Institutes in Wales and reflected in their website. The Members' Centre section gives details of local groups and an online application form if you want to join up.

The National Trust

The National Trust website gives all the details you need before visiting one of their many properties in Mid Wales, including Plas Newydd, Plas yn Rhiw and Penrhyn Castle. The Trust also owns large swathes of Snowdonia and the coastline, and the site also has plenty about activities for all and material for kids.

Theatr Brycheiniog

A lively website listing details of performances, exhibitions and other activities at Brecon's Theatr Brycheiniog which opened in 1997. Browse the dropdown menu for various categories of performance or click on Diary of Events for a single page listing. You can't book tickets online but you can choose your seat and find out how to book over the phone, by post or at a local Tourist Information Centre. You can also download the theatre restaurant's tempting menu.

The website for Newtown's Theatr Hafren opens with a welcome message from administrator Sara Cullen and a taster of the centre's main events. Other pages give more comprehensive details about what's on in both the theatre and the gallery. There are also photos of the staff and information on how to book tickets.

Theatr Mwldan

Theatr Mwldan is a lively arts centre in the middle of Cardigan. Housed in a former slaughterhouse, the building underwent extensive renovation from 2002 - 2004. Its website was relaunched in 2006 and publishes a full programme about what's on at the centre - from theatre production to films, exhibitons and more.

Wyeside Arts Centre

The Wyeside is a busy arts centre in the middle of Builth Wells, housing a theatre, a cinema, gallery space and a restaurant. Use the wesite to find out what's on in each space. You can't book tickets online but you can email or phone to reserve. The site also caries an interesting article on the history of the building - from its Victorian Market Hall origins, its heyday as a cinema to the birth of the present-day venue for the arts.
