Aberystwyth Arts Centre

As well as a theatre and cinema, Aberytwyth Arts Centre also has four exhibition spaces. Details of exhibitions, along with all of the centre's other events, can be found on the website. Other useful information here includes how to book tickets, details of courses and facilities available to the public and how to get your work selected for an exhibition. Very handy links to local, national and internatonal arts-oriented websites.

Ceredigion Museum Coliseum and Gallery

More of a web page than a web site but a handy place nonethless to find out what's showing at Ceredigion Museum which is housed in the old Coliseum building, Terrace Road, Aberystwyth. As well as permanent museum exhibits, it also has a gallery which is used mainly to display the work of local artists. About 8 different shows are held each year, with details of what's currently on show available online.

This privately run gallery, housed in a 17th century building in Montgomery town square, has specialised for the last eleven years in showing the work of contemporary British artists and craftsmen, some from Mid Wales. The site lists contact details and opening times.
David Beattie Etching Studio & Gallery

A working artist's studio-cum-gallery producing a range of finely detailed original etchings. Subjects include rural landscapes, livestock, wildlife and market character studies observed at marts and cob shows in the county formally known as Dyfed.
Kathy Gittins

This website is an online exhibition of the work of local Montgomeryshire artist Kathy Gittins. Her range includes original watercolours and limited edition prints as well as greeting cards. She has two galleries - one in the small village of Meifod where the National Eisteddfod was held in 2003. Cambria Arts, Tregaron

This website, relaunched in April 2006, is packed with masses of information about past, current and future events. Dig a little deeper and you'll find previews of art exhibitions accompanied by a colourful selection of the artists work, details of upcoming arts festivals, a gig guide for the Talbot Hotel, Tregaron, a gallery of photographs of past gigs, as well past and present newsletters. All in all, an excellent website for arts & music lovers in the Tregaron area.
Phil Rogers Pottery

A website exhibiting the work of local potter Phil Rogers, who has worked in Rhayader for almost 25 years. It includes details of museums where his pottery is on show - not only in the UK but also overseas in South Korea and the USA. There are also some photos of his work and a full CV detailing his achievements, which include chairing the Craft Potters Association of Great Britain.
Oriel Davies

Formerly known as Oriel 31, this is the website of one the leading showcases for contemporary art in Mid Wales. Details about past, present and future exhibitions are posted online along with a brief history about the Oriel Davies premises in Newtown which were built thanks to a legacy from the Davies sisters (see our Hall of Fame). The building reopened in September 2004 after major refurbishment and parts of the website, including a photo gallery, are still under construction.

Pictoriana is a Gallery, Craft and Gift Shop in New Quay , Mid-Wales, which exhibits photographs, paintings, art and craftwork by local artists. Their website has useful links to local artists, e.g. Robert Price, and has a diary of local events.

The Art of Andrew Logan

An online taster for the high-camp museum dedicated to the work of legendary British sculptor Andrew Logan, based at Berriew near Welshpool in Powys. Logan was the founder of the Alternative Miss World contest in 1972, an event that thrust the late Divine into the spotlight and much of the museum is dedicated to frocks and memorabilia from the exhibition. Logan uses real, everyday objects and transforms them into something new and wonderful like giant lilies or Indian Goddesses, many of which can be seen here.

The website of the late Mike Knight from Hay-on-Wye is now run by his wife. It has over 30 thumbnail images of his landscape paintings, drawings and prints which you click to enlarge.
The Cow Shed

A colourful shopfront website for the newly opened gallery and craft centre in Talsarn in rural Ceredigion, exhibiting and selling innovative furniture, art and design, much of it by local artists and craftspeople.
The Hay Makers

A co-operative of ten designer/makers living around Hay-on-Wye. The website gives a brief description of each of the artists and a glimpse of their work, no doubt to tempt you to visit their galley in the centre of Hay. Worth a look but probably not updated very often.
MOMA WALES - The Tabernacle

Machynlleth's MOMA Wales website details the Tabernacle's recent history and provides all the news and information you'll need about current and upcoming events and exhibitions, including details of the summer music festival. Most of MOMA's collection can now be seen online.
Tower House Gallery

The online presence for a gallery in the border town of Knighton, showing contemporary work by artists from Powys and The Marches. Each of the 22 artists listed have their own sections telling us about themselves and showing us their work (with prices!). Dozens of beautiful images to look at without leaving your chair.
Diane Mathias

This website is an online exhibition of the work of local artist Diane Mathias. It includes details of her exhibitions, as well as her paintings, prints and cards. You can also find information about her studio gallery, which is situated in the village of Henllan near Llandysul.
Oriel Penyfan

The Pen y Fan gallery in Brecon is run by Ann Mathias who's been collecting artwork since she was 18 years old. The gallery displays work by Welsh artists and there's a small biog for each one online, along with examples of their work.
Dancing Horse Studio

Based in the town of Montgomery in Powys, the Dancing Horse Studio is owned by local artist and photographer Tony Caplin. Examples of his work can be seen online, along with details of exhibitions and courses. The gallery also hosts a monthly poetry meeting.
A-Frame Gallery

The online presence of the A-Frame gallery in Brecon which hosts up to 6 local exhibitions every year. The website has a section for gallery art and another dedicated to military art.
