Aberystwyth Arts Centre

As befits the main regional arts venue for Mid and West Wales and the largest arts centre in Wales, this website is comprehensive - detailing full listings of all the centre's shows and exhibitions. Details of exhibitions, along with all of the centre's other events, can be found on the website along with useful information on how to book tickets, details of courses and facilities available to the public and how to get your work selected for one of the centre's four exhibition spaces. Very handy links to local, national and internatonal arts-oriented websites.

A good place to go if you want to know what's on in Aber. Its copverage of local nightclubs is particularly good, with info on upcoming events as well as photo galleries of special nights. Other listings include cinema, theatre and eating out. You need to register to post in the chat forum but there's no need to sign up if you just want to browse the site.

Centre for Alternative Technology

Europe's leading eco-centre, located in the heart of Wales just on the edge of Snowdonia National Park, runs a number of residential and day courses, as well as free events suitable for all the family. The website contains detailed information on courses and events running throughout the year, covering everything from solar energy and sustainable woodland management to kids' bug-and-slug hunts and dawn chorus walks.

The site is aimed primarily at visitors to the area and has information on accommodation as well as things to do and places to visit. Our link takes you straight through to the events pages.

    This is the online version of Lampeter's monthly community magazine 'The Lamp' which publishes details of local events and other articles about the area. The site also offers a 360 degree view of Lampeter town centre, a picture gallery and a list of recipes.

    Operated by a collective of local people and businesses, this site states that its primary aim is to promote entertainment in and around Newtown. It includes details of live music gigs as well as festivals and other local events. There are also some picture galleries of past festivals in the town.

    This website devoted to Pumlumon and its five peaks contains a comprehensive events section. Log on here to find the nearest guided walk, Eisteddfod, trotting race and much more with the backdrop of the Cambrian Mountains.

    Regent Cinema, Newtown

    Details of films showing in Newtown's two-screen cinema as well as generic info about new releases, movie trailers, actors' profile and Hollywood gossip.

    Theatr Brycheiniog

    A lively website listing details of performances, exhibitions and other activities at Brecon's Theatr Brycheiniog which opened in 1997. Browse the dropdown menu for various categories of performance or click on Diary of Events for a single page listing. You can't book tickets online but you can choose your seat and find out how to book over the phone, by post or at a local Tourist Information Centre. You can also download the theatre restaurant's tempting menu.

    Theatr Hafren

    The website for Newtown's Theatr Hafren opens with a welcome message from administrator Sara Clutton and a taster of the centre's main events. Other pages give more comprehensive details about what's on in both the theatre and the gallery. There are also photos of the staff and information on how to book tickets.

    Theatr Mwldan

    Theatr Mwldan is a lively arts centre in the middle of Cardigan. Housed in a former slaughterhouse, the building underwent extensive renovation from 2002 - 2004 and as part of the redevelopment, its website is also being redesigned. Until then, all you'll find is a web page with contact details and a link to Creative Mwldan. Watch this space!

    An online programme of events at Builth Wells' Arts Centre which is quick and easy to navigate. As well as cinema, live shows and visual arts listings, there's also a 1500-word history of the Arts Centre building - from its Victorian Market Hall origins, its heyday as a cinema to the birth of the present-day venue for the arts.
