Boat Place Opening

Last updated: 10 May 2006

On 9 May 2006 a new education and resource centre for boat users in Cardigan Bay was opened on Newquay Harbour. The Boat Place aims to raise awareness of the Special Area of Conservation that stretches North and South along the coastline from Newquay and the code of conduct for boat users in the bay.

The Boat Place also features a couple of interactive games, including the code of conduct game which sets out guidelines for boat users encountering dolphins and other marine wildlife. There is also a seaweed recognition game and access to the Ceredigion Council's Special Area of Conservation website.
