Boat Place Opening

Last updated: 10 May 2006

On 9 May 2006 a new education and resource centre for boat users in Cardigan Bay was opened on Newquay Harbour. The Boat Place aims to raise awareness of the Special Area of Conservation that stretches North and South along the coastline from Newquay and the code of conduct for boat users in the bay.

The Boat Place was opened by Dr Carolyn Heap who manages the Marine Stewardship Fund for the Crown Estate. Also present (pictured right) were Cliff and Glennys Davies whose donation of £2,000 on behalf of the Cardiganshire Coastal Protection Society helped fund the Boat Place.
