"I was driving back home on the road from the Tychrug to Cross Inn with the family one night when we saw this light approach us in the sky.
As we neared it, the radio cut out and when the light passed right by us, the car stopped dead - the lights and engine.
We called the police but they didn't want to know and said that it must have been some kind of bomber on manouveres but I've seen plenty of those and it was nothing like it.
I also work nights and I've seen a similar light since on a number of occasions - once coming in from the sea and moving along the Rheidol valley. It's the same kind of light every time.
One night about two months ago, one of my colleagues and myself were outside Penbryn on the university campus when we saw this bright light approaching from the sea, he was really shocked. But it doesn't scare me - I'd like to be able to see it close up one night."

I have on 2 occasions seen light in the sky in Brynhoffnant. Once with my brother in law and once last night 11/03/09. Last night I was in my garden with my children. I heard a jet plane high in the sky, they go over very often but are so high they are difficult to hear unless it is very quiet. Suddenly a large ball of light appeared, fell very quickly, slowed and appeared to move away before it disappeared as quickly as it had appeared. At first I thought it was a jet in a dive then leveling out as it looked like the flames from a jet engine but there was no sound whatsoever, which ruled ! that out.The light was very very bright. Did anyone else see it?

On the night of the 28th of December 2008, at approx 22:05hrs I was star gazing and saw this amazing star moving slowly across the sky for approximately 20 seconds it was travelling east and then south-east until it slowly faded away. Does anybody have any ideas to what this could have been???

I have also been watching stars looking for shooting stars and then noticed what looked like tiny star moving. But not in a pattern it was odd. Felt like so much time went by but my bf was at golf course cutting the green. And it had happend quicker then thought. Felt like minutes but he had only cut 2small rows grass. I want to know what this is. My gut tells me this wasn't a sattelite. deffinetl not a plane. The odd thing is that i was looking at the sky wishing i could get confirmation that all this spiritual growing i've been doing is going to help me oneday if i'm just wasteing my time. So what is this strange moving star in sky??????

Whilst travelling home through Builth Wells late around half midnight (early hours of Monday 7 July). Myself and partner spotted a series of red lights in the sky moving quite slowly as if in formation - som of them almost looked like "the plough" formation. We counted well over 20 coming over the horizon from the south west. Did anyone else see them? There were flashes of light in the sky periodically and then a horrendous downpour of rain

On the evening of Saturday 12 April, whilst travelling towards Garth, south of Builth Wells, I spotted a triangle of lights (one light on each corner) - perfect triangle, just sat there in the sky above the hills. All of a sudden the lights went out. Anybody else see it?

One evening last week, Tuesday I think, I was looking at the sky and saw a formation of "stars". At first I believed that the stars were stationary and the light clouds that were in the sky were blowing across the stars giving the impression of the stars moving but I tracked the movement across the sky and within a minute they had travelled quite a distance - I could tell this by the position of stars that I recognise - i.e the Plough etc. Was this a satellite? Regards

I used to live in Llandinam and one night about midnight to 1am, I was walking my dog through the village facing towards Llanidloes when I saw what can only be described as a ball of light/ball of fire travelling through the sky.It was really bright and was travelling extremely fast and then just disappeared. It concerned me a bit at the time but just forgot about it and thought there must be a reasonable explanation for it till I found this web site!!Also, I know of a few people who have seen strange lights in the Llandinam to Caersws area that can't be explained and another friend was travelling in a car with some members of his family when the car stopped and all the lights went off etc. That was on the Llandinam to Newtown road. Seems a bit too much of a coinsidence for us all to have seen things in this area. Well I think so?!

Oh My Gosh don't kid your self. I've seen exactly what you've seen It is amazing, they're not satelites noway nohow!.....There is always the Big one I call it the momma. It comes out first and then after 30 min of still disbelief I say yes it is this huge looking ship with a white headlight and red green yellow littler lights around it .. Twice I've noticed that its like a freeway up there if there are alot of so called stars in the sky look at there formation you will notice triangle shapes. They form these triangles after the big momma starts to leave and yes I have seen these things go diagonally up like 90 degrees and disapear its like a tunnel there going thru there is a almost like a white smoke around a hole in the sky they go thru it does take a while i'd say 30 min to an hour for them to disappea and when they go you can see like a booster rocket what I guess its like a boost thru this hole.Tonight we seen red streams of light 4 of them in about an hour shoot across the sky so active tonight. I can't belive u don't hear people at the store or the mailman saying did u see the sky last night..I don't know what to think..

On 24 July 2007 me and my brother went into our back garden for a ciggarette, I was looking at the stars as I love watching the sky for shooting stars or anything weird e.t.c, when I noticed a star moving slowly west, it was definitely moving because the sorrounding stars was fixed in place , I watched in amazement until it went out of sight , I was puzzled as to how a star can move cause ive never seen it b4.I came in for the toilet and thought about it , and had to go back out and look at the sky , I found another one in a different location. and watched it moved slowly , i pointed them out to my brother and he couldn't understand what they were either.anyway i stayed outside until i saw another and it moved south slowly until clouds blocked my view , i was waiting for the cloud to move to see it again , but when they did it wasnt there.tryed looking it up , and so far ive got ppl saying there sattelites, fair enough if they are but i dont believe so.

I watched a glimmering light in the sky directly west from my attic bedroom window on 25 May 2007 at about 11pm. I can say for certain that the light had some odd characteristics. At first I took it to be a planet, then noticed it slowly moving apparently downwards, or towards me. I then took it to be aircraft landing lights. The light seemed to be moving erratically, as though it would slowly move downwards, then stop, then move slowly downwards again. It was at this point that I filmed it on my mobile phone (I have the footage but it is so zoomed out as to just look like a star or planet), w! atching it for a further twenty minutes. I took a reference point of a chimneypot on a roof over which it was relatively situated, but over the next fifteen minutes it moved only gradually and didn't appear to be noticeably moving, thus its movement could be explained as the movement of a satellite or planet. I think the apparent erratic movement of this light could have been some sort of optical illusion. I'm entirely undecided about what I saw, but i'd like to hear of any accounts of whether and how this could have been an optical illusion.I'm not given to flights of fancy, as i'm sure the vast majority of other contributors here aren't either.

In Salzburg, Austria, my girlfreind and me saw these moving stars too. They surely arenīt satellites for most of them perform erratic, jittering motion sidewards + change speed and direction. I know what satellites (both geostationary and orbiting) can do and what they look like. One of them did something really strange - it lit up VERY bright and stopped.. it seemed that it noticed us watching. That was so totally freaking...
These things are something else than satellites or planes (a quite ridiculous explanation if you see what I'm talking about) and there are so many of them that I wonder how blind people are to this! Obvious oddity. Poor mankind...

In answer to Dan Mulholland, South Yorkshire(UK)Wed Aug 31 03:20:40 2005: What you saw moving across the sky at an even pace were satellites orbiting the earth. Depending on the height of the orbit, dictates how far you see them move across the sky. The higher the orbit, the longer they reflect sunlight basically and if you stand there long enough, you will see that same satellite return as it completes its orbit. This time varies in relation to the height of orbit, (distance traveled). A decent star map will also point out stationary satellites seemingly stationary over the Earth in synchronized earth orbit).

I was just looking at the photograph of the unidentified flying object on this place. My mouse was over the object when believe it or believe it not the arrow(from the mouse)over the UFO moved of its own volition, slowly without my moving it and continued until it was at the top of the page. I was stunned to say the least and moved it back to the UFO photo hoping against hope to have a repeat performance but nothing happened. I cannot for the life of me think how this could happen. I was definately not moving it. Strange or what? Caz.

Right, what i read above has happened to me on several occasions... The first, must have been about 10:30pm, one night during last winter. Me and a girl we're sat on a bridge out in some kind of park. The sky was clear, so naturaly we stargazed. We started to see a few shooting stars, as we looked to find more, we noticed what appeared to be stars moving, we followed them until they'd vanished, more or less each one following the same route. I do recall one or two going back.. I think that night we must have seen 8 or 9, not including the shooting stars we had seen, but not all of them made the full length of the sky. Some would vanish half way or even leave a trail. I'm just glad someone was there to experience that with me. Since then i have seen them on several occasions including more shooting stars, but whatever it is im seeing i want to get to the bottom of it, anyone have any ideas?

I was a firm believer in UFO and read many book by many authors. But nothing convinced me more then my own grandfather. He used to wake up in the early parts of the winter morning in Darjeeling and make tea for all of us before we got from bed.
I was always the second one to wake up and talk to my grandfather in the morning. I never told him about my belief about the UFOs but that morning while I was talking to him he pointed out towards the snowy mountains and told me ..something big, white and flat it rose so quick from the valley and disappeared into the sky at a great speed even faster than an aeroplane.

On the morning of the 20th February just before 10.00am my husband and I were driving towards Llangurig from Llanidloes when we both saw something very bright in the sky. It was travelling across the sky at rocket like speed. It was bright yellow at first turning to a violet colour. It had a sort of "tail" or trail of violet. It suddenly disappeared.
Have there been any other reported sightings?

One night, me, my cousin and my sister decided to sleep on the back porch of their house. We were watching the stars and I noticed some of the stars were moving around. At first, we thought they were satellites. But my cousin pointed out that satellites move in straight lines. As we watched we noticed that the moving stars would go fast, then slow and sometimes disappear and then come back in a different spot. They moved out of the house soon after, but we still haven't figured out why we saw those stars that night.
