Pales Quaker Chapel

Steve Morgan sent us this childhood story of a strange encounter in a churchyard in Radnorshire.

Written by Steve Morgan:

"When I was a child, I visited the Pales Quaker Chapel off Penybont Common with my parents (you have a reference on your site).

It was a sunny afternoon and my parents went to look at the church while I played outside.

I was busy throwing stones at a nearby quarry which serves as a car park area and within a few moment found I was also being joined in this activity by another boy.

Both of us continued doing this for several minutes, then it occurred to me that the only car outside the Church was my parents - so where had he come from?

So I asked him. I don't remember how he managed to avoid answering this question but he started to tell me about there fact that he had lived many previous lives, one of which was a slave boy to a pharaoh.

I was only 6 years old at the time of this event and knew nothing of re incarnation, but I do remember being concerned about this other child's sanity.

Soon I could see my parents and grandmother walking back to the car. I went to greet them and started talking about my new friend but when I turned around he was gone.

My parents told me off about telling lies but to this day this is clear memory of an encounter that took place when was a child.

Has anyone else had this experience?"

I believe the story that he told because I too have seen a ghost at the apartment of where I live in Vermont, usa. i gotten woken up one morning about 6 am by someone hitting me on the side of my leg and I thought it was my friend who always came up to wake me up to make coffee but this time is wasn't him but a spirit whom I saw only for a breif second. I got scared and had my best friend bring up a lady who was a "Wicca" person to do a cleasing which as far as I know she did because I never saw that spirit again.

Quite often people disregard what children say about subjects as this as pure fantasy or lies, but I know, as anyone who spends time around children does, that they are the most brutally honest people on earth, whether their honesty is wanted or not! I like to keep an open mind, despite never actually having come face to face with a ghost, although I live in hope!
