Weather Records

Snow Can you help with this query about the weather in Mid Wales?

Paul Hayes from Brecon sent us this email :

"I am trying to find weather records for Mid Wales on two specific dates. They are 27 Feb 2001 and 17 September 2003. I have tried searching in all the ways I can think of. The best I can find is monthly averages on the Met Office site. I would be very happy if you could supply the daily details, or alternately how I might find the info I am looking for. Thank you in anticipation."

Peter Barnes from Llangeitho has been keeping daily records near Tregaron since 1995 and sent us this information in May 2005:

27 Feb. 2001:
barometer 988 Hpa/mB; 2/8 cloud; wind calm; good visibility; min. air temp. -3C, max. 4C; grass min. -5C, rainfall 0.5mm; sunny intervals, light showers.

17 Sep. 2003:Barometer 1020; no cloud; wind south, light; good visibility; min. air temp. 4, max. 26C; grass min. 3C; no rain; sunny all day.

Charlie Downes from Aberystwyth has come back with some very specific information:

"I record the weather briefly twice a day in Aberystwyth so I hope this helps:

Tuesday 27th February 2001
Clear sky. Almost calm.
Hard frost 7am.
Light to moderate westerly wind.
Drizzle & bitterly cold. 4.30pm

I was in Tiverton early in the morning on 17th September 2003 but if it helps the weather was:
Calm with a thick mist.
Very hot and sticky 5am.
Light wind, sunny and very hot 4pm in Aberystwyth.

Hope that helps."

We would like to travel in September-October in wales. The problem is that I am sun-sensitive, I wear long sleeves all the time, hat...it makes us to travel not in summer months. At the same time, we don't want rain and cold all the time either during our vacation. Please let me know what usually weather like in wales at the end of september, and october. Is it still hot at the end of september?or it is not a good idea to postpone traveling till october because it will be too cold and rainy?thank you.
