Happy Apple Pictures

Every Thursday, a group of volunteers gather at the Healthy Living Centre on the Penrhos estate in Ystradgynlais to pack boxes of fruit and veg for local people. It's all part of the 'Happy Apple' initiative to encourage healthy eating habits. Find out more by click through our slideshow of photos:

The Healthy Living Centre is based in a converted block of flates on the Penrhos estate in Ystradgynlais. The project was given a kick-start thanks to a National Lottery grant of almost £600,000 back in 2001.

Ystradgynlais is one of the poorest areas in Wales, with high levels of unemployment and long-term illness.

I am a Welshie and I come from Ystradgynlais. I just recently moved to Rugby and I just want to say a big thanks to all the people that did this on the internet.
