Last updated: 02 November 2007

Trafinidiaeth Canolbarth Cymru- or TraCC for short! -has launched a new car sharing scheme for the Mid Wales region.Meleri Jones, the Regional Travel Plan Co-ordinator for Mid Wales explained more about the project in November 2007:

  • Mid Wales' transport's future...

  • "Midwalescarshare.com (rhannucarcc.com) is to replace the previous scheme, Do it With Dai. Individuals who have already registered on the Do it With Dai system will automatically be transferred to the new database.

The scheme has been created in partnership with the biggest UK carsharing company, Liftshare (who currently have over 150,000 car sharers registered in the UK) to help the public who are looking for a lift or who want to offer a lift.

    What is car sharing?

Car sharing is when two or more people travel in the same car together. Not only is car sharing a great way to meet new people, it can also benefit the environment, help reduce congestion, fewer parking problems, and also save you money.

    When can I car share?

Car sharing can be a great solution for getting around and be used for any journey, getting to work, to catch the bus or train taking the children to school, going to a match on the weekend, to a festival, event or show, getting to and from University, visiting friends or even going on holiday!

    How do I car share?

    • Log-on to our website
    • Register your details (name, postcode and journey details)
    • We will contact you with a journey match
    • You choose whether you want to share and get in touch with your car share match.

How car sharing can benefit you:

    • Saves you money
    • Helps reduce congestion
    • Fewer parking problems
    • Reduces your carbon footprint
    • Provides transport in areas not serviced by public transport
    • Meet new people.

Visit our website midwalescarshare.com and register your details to be part of the biggest car sharing database in the UK. Or us on 01970 633432 midwalescarshare@tracc.gov.uk for more details."
