Old Photos

Last updated: 04 January 2010

Find out how Talgarth has changed by taking this photo-tour of the town which was sent to us by Edward Williams from the Talgarth Historical Society. If you've got any old pictures of the area, send them to us and we'll add them to the website.

In 1947 a very heavy snow fall covered Talgarth.

Erika Graves would like to find information on Evan Breese who was a Railway Signalman at Talgarth in 1901. She asks if anyone has any names for the men in the photo (Photo 12) and when was it taken?

C.J.Price of Rhydyfro, Pontardawe would like more information about photo 13:

C J Price:"I am trying to contact any relation of a Talgarth butcher, Thomas Price who is shown outside his shop in your old photos of Talgarth, photo number 13.Any information relating to this photograph will be greatly appreciated."

Debbie Morgan from Coggeshall sent us this message in January 2008:

Debbie:"Frederick and Kate Morgan pictured in Talgarth's first car are the brother and sister of my Grandfather - David Hippisley Morgan."

:

Alison Hodge from Cheltenham wants to know if anyone recognises a relative of hers in the photo above:

Alison:" I have just been looking at the old photos of Talgarth. The first photo of the 1947 heavy snowfall. I think I recognise one of the men as my grandfather Thomas Crane. Can anyone confirm this?"
